EDIT: To all geniuses who think that I spend all my time reading patch notes before I play a video game: I don't I know bungie has a bad rep for bugs and time gating so I wait until I can play the game how I want. THEN, after I find out the mission is broken, look it up and find out it's been that way for two months, I get agitated.
There is no in game system letting you know about this, which is in and of itself absurd
DO YOU EXPECT EVERYONE TO READ ALL BUG LISTS AND PATCH NOTES BOFORE LOADING INTO EVERY ACTIVITY?????
It's this kind of illogical and elitist thinking that ruins the "destiny community"
I completed the mission in the one playthrough after a few attempts at the soft locked boss. This post is about both the failure to rectify and notify about bugs without spending 20 minutes reading bug lists on their website or patch notes

I literally waited an entire episode for all the bugs to be ironed out so I could play and have fun.
I was really enjoying exploring all the secrets of the Kell's Fall mission until I got softlocked at Fikrul, which has been a KNOWN ISSUE since release.
This is honestly unbelievable. I can't believe I was actually having fun in this game for once, and then a classic fashion bungie has left key content in ruins an entire episode after its release.
On a previous forum post that bungie responded to showing they were aware of the issue they have since not replied so just like the rest of the games content it seems that this awesome and inspiring exotic mission with secret rooms and hidden puzzle codes, probably one of my favourite things in the game, is going to be put in the garbage in frontiers.
In summation, if you are expecting this issue to be resolved, don't. Bungie is just going to keep moving on to the next train station even if the carriages behind them are completely derailed. Ultimately, I am beyond frustration now and am just disappointed that I bother coming back at all. Please do better, Bungie, for your own sake as well as ours.

It’s kinda disappointing that you’re getting 💩 from some people. You shouldn’t need to check a patch list to confirm that a mission breaking bug in a live service game that’s been a known issue for over 2 months has been fixed. That’s something you should reasonably expect to have been done. -
Bro they haven’t even fixed the Icebreaker Catalyst quest and they dont even mention it in the twabs lol Needless to say, I will not be attempting the Sundered Doctrine catalyst quest (which we already know is ALSO bugged)

17 通の返信If you knew the issue existed, why did you decide to start playing before Bungie said they fixed it?

30 通の返信I didn't realize you knew exactly what was causing the issue in the first place and exactly how to fix it. Oh, you didn't? Then why are you getting all pissy about something that takes time to fix and also has to be found what was even causing it in the first place. If you get this pissy over a bug happening that you knew about, then you clearly weren't ever having fun and shouldn't have come back just to complain about it. Especially when there are these things called patch notes that you can read to find out if something has been fixed.

Bungie clearly took away many of the bug fixers in the lay offs. It’s pretty inexcusable that it’s still bugged. But just for advice the boss isn’t too hard to 1 phase. A sword with literally any damage perk is usually enough to do it solo. A damage super is usually 1/3 to 1/2 his health. Even something like an auto loading shotgun and a rocket or gl would probably be enough. Only nuisance is the little enemies, but using a well or ward of dawn is an easy fix. On a hunter you might just be best off using celestial nighthawk or a roaming super.

1 返信Unfortunately if nothing changes you’ll need to either put together a build that can one phase Fikrul Solo or grab a couple other Guardians and run it as a fireteam. Yes, this is an issue that should have been fixed some time ago and you shouldn’t need to one phase him for a completion, but there’s no sense in depriving yourself of a clear when the method to avoid soft locking entirely (ie. not allowing the encounter to go past the first damage phase) was acknowledged within the Known Issues section as far back as January 16th:
Kell’s Fall: During the boss fight, sometimes the portal back to the revenant plane doesn't open when multi-phasing the boss, leading to a soft lock.
As to your contention that
it seems that this awesome and inspiring exotic mission with secret rooms and hidden puzzle codes, probably one of my favourite things in the game, is going to be put in the garbage in frontiers.
As a Seasonal Exotic Mission there’s actually a fair chance Kell’s Fall will remain in the game, being added to the rotator instead of vanishing entirely (although the existence of this soft lock may factor into whatever calculus they use to determine which Exotic Missions stay and which ones go, so nothing is certain until it’s certain).
