Possibility of a delay... measure your expectations.
Given the expected timeline originally of a mid to late July launch of Frontiers....
That's ONLY 4 months away!
For the Final Shape, pre-orders went live 6 months in advance.
In both the lead up to Lightfall & WitchQueen, we had information and preorders available within the current scope of time.
However, the biggest indicator to me was the unfinished gun models for the Rite of Nine event that begins in about a week.
They're developing to the wire, they have no buffer.
Frontiers & Apollo is probably going to get delayed.

Another option is that Frontiers is just the after.. meaning at its base being free (and who knows maybe will be all free or at least for a period of time as a promotional event to bring in players who left to try).. [b]there is nothing to delay[/b]. Sure there are dates and content and things.. but those can drop whenever within a set time... and the main value is supposed to be driven by a refresh of already in-game activities/vendors/events.. the UI...and continued, unfortunate, updates to armor..etc. So I don't know how coordinated it has to drop unless they find it critical for Marathon and how they will monetize it all. On the pre-order - I echo what others say. Stop this practice. Actually the whole video game industry should stop this practice as it is setting up the product to under-whelm. If you paid for your groceries months in advance and you got a blemish on your delivered tomato... you are way more pissed and gonna wanna throw it back.. than hey.. I just picked out this tomato and bought it.. I can't wait to try it (the anticipation is a positive force there). -
Never pre-order. I’d don’t mind them being late if that means they’re working hard on it to deliver something good. On any game, the preorder stuff is just a way to start amortizing the investment as early as possible by marketing something that is not ready yet. It benefits the company 100% and not the players, so it should not exist.

1 返信My expectations for Frontiers is rock bottom. I suspect it will be a low effort and underwhelming affair, and that's why I won't be pre-ordering. There's plenty of triple AAA games due to launch this year to keep me occupied.

If not, idk what else they were planning other than rite of the nine, which is technically part of act 3 and not an extension like ITL was. Both lightfall and TFS were announced with pre-orders by the second or third season after the last expansion was released, so we should have seen something official with a pre-order around the start of revenant, act 2 at the latest. Frontiers sounds extremely meh and bare-bones based on what little they've said about it so far and they know it. They're no doubt scrambling to add more content or something significant like prismatic to make it more enticing. They know we're all underwhelmed by what we've heard so far, similar to the original reveal of TFS, and they really need to pull a rabbit out of their -blam!-es. They also know our faith in them is at a rock-bottom all time low, even lower than it was during Lightfall, and people have been justifiably leaving in huge numbers since Revenant. It's gonna take a miracle to fix what they broke last episode, so I have no doubt Heresy will be another super-long season (or episode) and we'll probably get more filler content before it eventually comes out.

2 通の返信I’ve never cared when the delay things. It only benefits us for waiting. The best DLCs have been delayed. Besides there’s so much stuff I can do that I’ve never done and is available for me to play.

2 通の返信The nine activity ships with Act 3 doesnt it? Thats in like 4 weeks. We have another week of act 2, then a 3 week break and then act 3.

1 返信I have little doubt it will be another delayed release based on the fact they haven’t discussed it or even Marathon to be honest

4 通の返信Maybe a delay is a good thing: gives them a chance to actually release less broken (I wouldn't expect fixed), allow the possibility for of all voice lines bring recorded and a period to maybe - just MAYBE - fix some of more glaring issues the game currently has. Or maybe I am putting too much faith in common sense prevailing over business sense for once.

1 返信Your right, less than 4 months and still no pre-order Wouldn't surprise me if everything gets delayed They should have delayed this season untill after the VA demands have been resolved so they can use Xivu and Sloanes audio, people don't like to read a conversation, they want to hear it

I don’t think there has been an official date set, so technically it wouldn’t be delayed. My theory is that if they do push back the release, they might update something like Dares of Eternity as a mini “Into the Light” update in keeping with the Nine theme they seem to be hinting at for the next content drop. Would be nice to have a reason to go back to that activity.

3 通の返信I don't think the rite of the nine weapons are unfinished. I mean, they showed the guns with their new looks in the live stream. They probably just didn't have the updated look added to the playable game due to the event not starting for a while. Not really a point to having them in the game yet if they aren't supposed to be earnable yet.
