Hey there, there's no 'transfer' between accounts, and never has been (except Battle.net -> Steam) but in this case it doesn't matter.
Your character data (including inventory, progress, etc) is fully tied to your PSN account on PS3, and it's as simple as using that same old PSN account when you upgrade to PS4/PS5. When you run the game there, you'll see those same characters.

A friend who has played D1 for thousands of hours is telling me that bungie removed any kind of character transfer in 2019. By his logic If I had signed my account in a ps4 before that date in 2019, i would still be able to transfer my stuff. However, what you are saying also sounds true. I will just wait and see what others tell me

Just to cover all bases. Destiny 1 had a platform split right before Rise of Iron launched as PS3/Xbox 360 were not getting Rise of Iron. This wasn't a transfer but instead just a simple progression split this infographic shows how that worked There was a one time character migration from Destiny 1 to Destiny 2 done right before Destiny 2 launched, this only transferred the class type, visuals (hair/make up), and veteran status. If your characters weren't migrated/aren't showing up on Destiny 2 then they didn't meet the criteria to be eligible for it. On Destiny 2 in 2019, Bungie were moving off the Battle.net platform and there was a one-time transfer for characters/progression/licenses that existed on a players Battle.net account and let them transfer it over to Steam. This is no longer active and any progression that wasn't transferred from Battle.net is now permanently lost. This would not have applied to you as you are talking about going from PS3->PS4/5.

EckyThumpにより編集済み: 2/11/2025 8:46:31 PMSo just to clarify, you're talking about the original Destiny, not Destiny 2. Sorry I do now see you used the legacy support tag, I had assumed Destiny 2. I also just found out that Destiny 2 was not even released on PS3, so apologies again for the mixup! As you are talking about the original Destiny, then yes, unfortunately there was a form of data migration that had to be performed, and that window is now long since closed.
