I feel like this game has become nothing but ability spam and no gun play. Am I alone in this? I REALLLLLY miss Destiny PVP how it was before all the abilities (subclass 3.0) showed up. I still play it, because IMO, the gunplay in Destiny surpasses all else, but it's just buddies, and titan melees and what gun play there is, it's just everyone running fusion rifles and graviton lance.
I wish also that we could go back to the old competitive scoring system. Me and several of my friends got to Legend (5500) multiple seasons. However, in multiple seasons now, I don't think a single one of us have cracked 6500. Between the minimal points for wins and devastating point loss for losses as well as the horrible game modes (rift, collision, etc.) - it's in such a bad place. If anyone at Bungie is listening... (hahaha...sorry, i couldn't help but laugh at the thought), can you PLEASE give us SURVIVAL and CLASH for a season. PLEASE?!?! You have such a good game...just give us a little love in PVP please.

1 返信Here we go with the not enough Gunplay garbage talk. If you want Gunplay go play Call of duty.

5 通の返信DooWork96により編集済み: 1/17/2025 11:39:09 PMLet me break this down in a few sections to make it easy. 1.) There is an entire game mode where abilities are not allowed for starters. 2.) This game is also built around the idea of “space magic”, even with Bungie throwing down constant ability nerfs. Don’t want a game with space magic? May I suggest BO6 (it is relatively fun). 3.) Cool downs were much faster prior the 3.0 system. 4.) You’re complaints about the current weapons I’m assuming you frequently get beaten by. Maybe learn how to bait a fusion rifle shot, or don’t run in a straight line with your shotgun. 5.) The player base is at an all time low, and unless you’re buying Pete parsons a vintage car, I doubt we’ll see any change. Now I say this with the exception of the prismatic hunter meta. The smokes, swarms, and clones can go, but they have since tuned this slightly.

1 返信No. You're not alone. The game was moving in a better direction before Final Shape and they seem to have completely scrapped what the pvp strike team was doing. I don't want to return to the old comp like you've said here, but there's too many abilities. The gunplay we had returned to in Into the Light is all but lost. Abilities and special are rampant again. Titans are broken. Pulses have slowed gameplay to a crawl. Games in a nose dive.

4 通の返信“But, but space magic” argument incoming! Pve players need the abilities to not feel bad in PvP.

2 通の返信Yeah. I really hate how content is now made with the ability spam in mind. Weapons and abilities has swapped places now. Weapons is more or less a thing you use here and there and abilities is your main form of attacks. Such a boring play style that Bungie wants us to play.

3 通の返信Tbh with all the cheaters and low pop I would just give up on crucible and go play cod. Sure it has cheaters to and horrible movement but atleast it has better servers and just as good gameplay. Abilities are part of the game and imo they aren’t a problem at all.

堺市 Rinzler (PRIMARCH)により編集済み: 1/18/2025 10:14:03 PMThen play cod or literally any other fps shooter. Destiny is quite literally space magic the videogame, with guns and loot added into it. Please ffs STOP CRYING because abilities exist in the game, its the entire reason we even have a player character to play as to begin with. The entire game from beginning to end, is based around space magic. Not loot, not weapons, space magic.....

Cause the game isn’t designed around PvP. Pve is the major draw and gameplay loop for loot. Why PvP mains think the game should revolve around the smallest segment if the content is absolutely ridiculous

IMO, you have too different main issues. 1. You don’t like the abilities in PvP. Before 3.0- abilities would actually charge faster, therefore probably be used more often. There might now be more abilities overall, with 3.0, but most of the cooldown times, have been slowed/ made to take longer. Also, you are choosing to play a game that is hugely focused around Space magic and build-crafting around those. Now you have issues with playing against abilities. It would be like if you played CoD PvP, and asked them to add special abilities. It’s not a fully logical way to think about it. Not that having an option is wrong, but maybe just the wrong game to play if you are not enjoying the abilities. 2. The other issues you seem to have is, you don’t like how few points you get for a win vs how many you loose in a loss. That doesn’t have anything to do with your first argument of not liking PvP because of the abilities in the game. The abilities in the game, don’t give out the points. That would be a Bungie design decision. Anyways, not being rude, just how I see the game and at least how you present your viewpoint/ argument.

Pazsyにより編集済み: 1/18/2025 1:15:47 AMThey have nerfed ability cooldowns over and over and over again. Ability uptime is like half of what it was a year ago. If you don't want abilities in a game that mainly focuses around them you should play something else or play the game mode offered to you that removes abilities.
-
Two points: 1. I am rarely killed by abilities. Pulse rifles, hand cannons, shotguns, auto rifles, scout rifles, and fusion rifles, sometimes sniper rifles, sometimes sidearms, in more-or-less that order of frequency. Warlock melees, void grenades, and supers are really the only abilities I need to worry about. 2. Virtually all other FPS games have PvP modes based entirely around gunplay. You have countless other options. Abilities is what sets Destiny apart from all the rest and is a fundamental aspect of its identity. Would a "guns only" mode in Crucible be good? Absolutely! That would be amazing. But, nerfing ability cooldowns and damage output has never been healthy for this game.

15 通の返信I disagree. While in PvE, sure, its ability spam out the wazoo, but all the most potent and powerful builds in PvP are centered around enhancing gunplay by either altering the way you approach a gunfight, or actively forcing alternate approaches from your opponents. Let’s look at some of the biggest metas that I remember inside of PvP. 1. Lorely Splendor Titans. Back during 3.0, they were nasty as all hell. We all remember this. The thing is, Lorely Splendor Titans were not potent because they were spamming offensive abilities. They were potent because they essentially made you immortal on any gunfight that was primary based. It didn’t actively remove gunplay, and while it shifted the meta in favor to specials, Gunplay was still at the center. 2. The Prismatic Hunter meta. This again, doesn’t really alter Gunplay. The abilities that are spammed due a number of things that are meant to distract and alter the approach or give the hunter a favorable advantage when entering gun fights. All the offensive abilities were shutdowns (Like area denial Swarm nades) And if you look at some of the best players in the game, like Hynra, while their builds heavily reliant on abilities, the primary function of the builds are to give a favorable advantage when entering a gun fight, or finishing off an opponent in Hynras case. To this end, the utility of the abilities far outweighs the power of the ability. Honestly, the most offensive Class is Warlocks, with abilities like Lightning Surge and the great number of buddies that they have witch they can spam, but even then, Solarlocks exist witch are another Utility based subclass when it comes to PvP, enhancing base gunplay and movement as opposed to providing purely offensive abilities.

25 通の返信It's a major reason the game is failing- . It's a Looter Shooter that DOESN'T need Loot because "MuH aBiLiTy SpAm". . Ability Spam is out of control thanks to Prismatic. . I personally think the 3.0s were the pinnacle of this game & actually promoted 50/50 gameplay.

yep I agree with you in PVP and even in PVE now.. its that turning point in the game around Beyond Light where they gave up on PVP.. on action/adventure.. to milk it as an RPG. Weapons/Gunplay is the strength of the game... and everytime I hear about fragment/aspect.. my fun factor shuts off. ... and I'd like to paste something here I said before that captures my feeling on how I played before:
The abilities heavy PVE even.. was not something that I felt D2 brought to the table at first.. those were buttons I pressed when I was in a bit of trouble during a mission/activity.. they weren't THE WAY I played and thought about the game. I outfitted myself with the loot that I chased down. These were not abilities.. they were the cool weapons.
