1. Fixing obvious issues that harm the player like bugs, inconsistent drops, etc. before fixing unintended elements of the game, that help the player or make the game more fun. This is such low hanging fruit, and the current model is so optically damaging, that I’m not sure how this has not been corrected all these years.
2. Matchmaking that places all of the best players in the lobby on one team, and all of the worst players on the other. Whatever programing that they’re using to match players, is so consistently opposite of what it should be, that they need only reverse what they have done.
3. Resolve the issue between hard-core and casual players by designing the game to be access focused, while rewarding hard core players for taking on modular, more difficult challenges.

Resolve the issue between hard-core and casual players by designing the game to be access focused, while rewarding hard core players for taking on modular, more difficult challenges.
This is what I’m more focused on. Make playlists like Trials more open to casuals by bringing back freelancing and separating the casuals from the hardcore more by means of the flawless pool. GMs should be catered to hard-core players, but Raids should be catered more towards casuals, as casual raiders are the ones driving PvE. All Dungeons and Raids should be grindable all the time. The fact that you have to wait to grind is ridiculous. The game begins to feel like you’re doing chores when Bungie assigns you the weekly raid to go mindlessly grind.

3 通の返信The Hermit IXにより編集済み: 10/21/2024 5:58:48 AMI’m not so sure Sony wants to take over Bungie. You’d think with how poorly upper management has handled things, they’d already be running the show. But they aren’t. They are applying pressure though. My guess is the success of the mobile game and Marathon will play into it for sure. Tyson is making some pretty bold changes next year so that will play into to it as well. D2 numbers aren’t bad either, even with its issues it remains a popular game. Destiny is a cash cow and Sony understands that. Beyond D2 there is a plethora of different ways it will make money. With that said all live service games are plagued with bugs and issues. Not acknowledging that really is viewing it as the grass is greener.

I'd be happy with the removal of woke culture from bungie, which it sounds like most people who were laid off were either woke or supported wokeness. I'd much rather see logical stories like witch queen, rather than forced emotional stories like final shape. Also, we get it, you want everyone to know Saint and Osiris are lovers.

8 通の返信Q: What 3 things could Sony do? 1. Remove the weeds / poison ivy 2. Bin P2P for DRServers + Split PvP from PvE 3. Lower the floor (fun) / raise the ceiling (hardcore grind++) Ease Springs! 🫡

3 通の返信What Sony will actually do if they did a takeover of Bungie... 1. Layoff employees en masse 2. Liquidate all Bungie's assets 3. License out the IPs to other studios or something

3 通の返信Ngl op this is like a child's list of wants. Very vague. Not exactly practical. Just kinda saying things that sound nice Like your 1st point basically boils down to "Sony should fix all the bugs and things players don't like" You're not saying anything of substance.

Sony can't actually do that. What Sony CAN do, is suggest to Bungie how to make the player quality of life better, and how to improve the game, but ultimately, it's up to Bungie if they want to heed those words.

3 通の返信I believe the assumption that Sony would resolve any issues with the game is flawed from the start. Sony purchased Bungie for their expertise in Live Service games, so they haven't had any successful release of that nature yet, especially if you look at Concord for any recent context. The more likely result would be that they drop support for much of anything new, leave it in a broken state, and milk as much money as they can through microtransactions until it no longer is profitable for them and they shut the game down. For them to be better than the current team would be a miracle in itself, and that is even considering how far Bungie has fallen already. Our best bet is that Bungie is worried enough about the takeover to get their act together and fix issues players have with the game.

9 通の返信Issue with topic 3 is that the majority of low end activities are not fun, and the majority of endgame activities are very arduous, entirely because of health and strength of enemy combatants. It’s hard to make a balance between the two parties. What I suggest is that Bungie completely disregards the casual playerbase. Ignore them, and otherwise act like they don’t exist. Conversely, they should not “Focus” on hardcore players. There is a middle ground to be reached, and that middle ground, the audience located within, should be the focus that Bungie has and who they need to appeal to. The Middle Ground Audience is by far, much larger than the Hardcore players, but conversely, they are willing to pay for the expansions each year and are not so easily dissuaded from playing the game as a casual audience would be. In other words, they take the best of both worlds. A casual audience will always exist. Any game will have such an audience. The goal should be to entice a casual audience that will eventually become that Middle Ground Audience, and as a result, you want to focus on that Middle Ground Audience to make sure there is reason to move on from a casual status.
