Bad Management ruined the game of the decade.
Looks like Sony will have their Pound of flesh, retribution for allegedly overstating Bungie’s Financials - according to Press Reports.
I’m apparently in the top 1% for Time Wasted On Destiny but my opinions never mattered. Who then was Bungie listening to because it certainly wasn’t the likes of me?
I never once asked Bungie to make things harder by default, I enjoyed being super powerful midway to near the end of each “Season or Expansion” my Ranked Up Game Godkiller Toon enjoyed stomping on enemies instead of being stomped upon. This permanent -minus on our Power is just asinine, if you’d advertised this is what you had in mind I’d never have bought TFS.
Continually nerfing by stealth, intent or accident, weapons that make the game fun…..not clever!
Taking away what we paid for….Sunsetting? Robbery/Bait and Switch in many opinions.
“Making New Content is too Hard” or something like that?
What were you, a game Developer or not?
I’m a PvE Player, PvP doesn’t interest me in the slightest, but I’ve always wanted my PvP Brethren to have the best of experiences:
Dedicated Servers
Proper monitoring and excising of Cheaters
A Plethora of Maps
PvP Only Weapons just for them.
Neglecting PvP denied Destiny getting considered for eSports, how could you be so short sighted? Ah, Bad Management…..I remember.
You created a great game, up there with Halo in my opinion, but you stabbed Destiny and us in the back!
It’s about time Executives were held responsible for their disastrous decisions, no Big Pay Offs for Failure, not a Penny……..only then will the broader Industry recover.

4 通の返信Streamers crying to have the game tailored to them have contributed hugely imo, well you lot got what you wanted so dont cry now!! Bungie themselves have been the main reason tbh, a pure greed driven company so they reap what they sow lol, we all know marathon isn't doing numbers and destiny is hemorrhaging players so it's safe to say 100% the end is near.

Lord Kielronにより編集済み: 8/18/2024 7:07:29 PMI’ve got to be the only person that read your title and was reminded of some doomsayer in the middle of town shouting about it being the end of the world Edit: seriously profanity filter… “who” next to the word “read” followed by “your”is now filtered out. Y’all need to stop censoring random words now. It’s getting pretty fn ridiculous

5 通の返信I'm in the Top 9% and also a veteran PvE player who said back in D1 that Destiny would never achieve its full potential because of Bungie's short-sighted decisions. I wish I were wrong but I wasn't.

Problem is you have a "game director" still in place who introduced all the changes to QoL that are killing the game. One foolish guy in charge of QoL who actually thinks he's smarter than everyone else. He actually believes somehow that making the game less accessible at the end of its run will bring back players. He's so foolish and full of himself that he somehow convinces himself that the low numbers are normal instead of being the death knell they actually are. Probably thinks that everyone is just magically going to decide one day that they enjoy playing the game his way. Hell.. he doesn't even play the game enough to know.

1 返信Too many tiny rooms with overpowered infinite ads. Too many nerfs. Nerfing us in all content. Cutting solo players out of exotic class items Terrible love stories based on bad fan fic don't help either. The proof is in the player count. Now languishing at mid 30's in the steam charts and dropping. The chart for FS drop off is like a cliff edge. You made the game for the wrong voices Bungie but they are all chasing other games now for their content.

1 返信I'm not as pessimistic as the topic title suggests (I think Bungie / The game will be fine), but I'm definitely right there with you (And a number of the other 1%-ers who posted) as to the "why". I've stuck with the franchise since the closed D1 beta, but this was the first expansion release I outright passed on (Haven't booted up the game since the end of May). I was not a fan of power delta activities in D1 (Hard Mode Crota, PoE), and I am definitely not a fan of them in D2. To give a short and simple statement as to my personal line of thought: Why are you changing what has been the norm for seven years? Nightfalls, Raids, Dungeons, and Patrols at no point in the longstanding history of this title had power deltas. Now sure, when you introduce something new and the activity is built around that idea, sure it's perfectly fine (Looking at GMs, Onslaught, Coil, Etc), but the large breadth of legacy content never had this in mind. I only ever see one or maybe two people in my clan discord on D2 anymore (Again, not me), there were no clan raids for SE that occurred outside of one failed attempt I heard about. Week after week though, I still check in to see if there's any news as to change though because like it or not, there's a lot of us who are still here even if we're not active in the game. We're not here to throw salt or troll as some of you who get frequently downvoted here think, but we're here because we actually still love the game, and just want it to return to a better place. You can sit here and say that the "elite wanted it to be hard", I'll knock on the wood here and ask:" Did I?" Because I sure as hell never made a single statement like that. Lightfall - Loved the expansion from a lore / general gameplay side of it, hated the changes they did to power / activity scaling, and this alone killed most of my clan last year, those players never came back for TFS. This game lives and dies on the casual audience engaging with it, we (Hardcore) know this, and yet a lot of you think we (hardcore) are out here praising TFS? Hell no, most of us are like O.P., we loved the way activity scaling worked before. It gave purpose to engaging with the game for a whole season and let us flex that power level - That's vertical progression (# go up). Sure, GMs still were in the game to have that capped experience, but nothing else in the game needed that, period. You want people to come back and stick around? Give them a reason to want to keep playing, and until deltas are removed, nothing that Bungie does will address this problem.

1 返信They really didn't think nerfing every good thing in the game wouldn't come back to bite them in the end. Now they're the ones getting nerfed. Lol.

2 通の返信Are you surprised at any of this of what's happening to bungie I'm not. You reap what you sow that goes for all of us in general.

I strongly felt there was little reason to keep playing the game, given the steady decline in quality and care since D1 and the seemingly dismal future of the game, so I deleted my characters and uninstalled the game. I honestly think this is the only way to get Bungie, and the gaming industry at large, to listen to us. If you complain about the game but continue to play the same amount of time, you are literally supporting their decisions, and there is zero incentive for them to change because their scummy actions have no consequences. They can continue to artificially increase play time through difficulty, sunset weapons, remove content, neglect PVP, manipulate “RNG”, recycle content, and push the same tired seasonal content on players year after year, and it won’t matter if the majority of players are dissatisfied because the majority of players will still buy it and keep them in business. If you’re unhappy with the game, don’t play it. Don’t buy Marathon. It really is that simple.

1 返信Too true. They hate fun. As soon as people start to enjoy content they nerf it or remove it. The streamers sneered at fun, saying it was for wimps. Bungle bought into it and here we are. Seems to me that if Sony paid big bucks to retain employees and then Bunlge fired them, there should be some legal consequences. Maybe have the top guys pay back their bonuses. Might have to sell a car or two.

3 通の返信I thought about it... One can say the show is over. Bungie is on the floor - so to speak. They already outlined the future of the game, which will exist with events like "Into the Light" without even a story being implemented. There's still a lot to do if you want to invest in what your characters have left of their journey. But nothing else, like refinement, is left over. It has been 10 years, but those could be better, for sure. I know - the airport guardians - but I also think it's time to go here. Because there will be nothing new. The people I meet in this game, who are definitely the best part of it (!), are not in this forum anyway. Take care, everybody! And, be kind to each other, because the world is cruel enough.

3 通の返信I too am in the top 1% (nothing to brag about) and Bungie didn’t once ask me how I felt about the game. But I feel like you, making us under power just because, that’s terrible. Simple solution is to let people grind their light level up to be meaningful but also bring lesser players level to within a certain range. Also, as someone who legit gets 75-80% armor, let us choose rewards at the end. Have an armor crate and a weapon crate. Let us pick! I do play pvp a lot (poorly). Biggest issues are lobby balancing (doesn’t feel like there is any), modded controllers (they still can’t stop it), and quitters affecting other peoples games. All this said, it’s the smoothest shooting game that’s still fun. I do hope they address these issues. MDGA!

1 返信Bungie listend to Pete Parsons and the other executives rather than the playerbase. Sunsetting was due to file size (there is a limit a game itself can be if it wants to be available on console, DLC does not count but Destiny does not keep DLC as seperate content) When you agreed to that wall of text when you started playing you agreed to buying a liscense to play what you pay for not that you own the content itself. You also agreed that any content could be removed at any time and cannot claim ownership of the content itself. The issue is not with the developers entirely, the fault is with the higher ups and their mismanagement along with hirig based on a quota (usually around diversity to not get cancelled by a certain group of radicals) rather than hiring on merit.

Dominator of Oatsにより編集済み: 8/18/2024 10:34:41 AMThere are a few major things they did that just reduced the value of the game. 1. Ignoring PVP for several years. I am not a PVP main but this was a massive mistake. The player population for the game has dropped, and it looks like the only dedicated players are pissed off PVP players. This is the thing that kept Destiny alive when there was nothing else to do. Well, that nothing is here, and both sides are in low population states. 2. Ignoring PVE players. You might double take, but it is actually true. For several years the content vault and sunsetting the original campaign were reported as pain points. Why? Number one is that getting new players into the game was always difficult but the Red War set those things up very well. It used to be easy to have a friend play through that and get them going. Now, the current new player experience is frankly, not working. And the vault is basically telling players they do not have the right to content they paid for that was expected to be permanent. They should have found another solution. They wanted to push a graphics and lighting update players do not care about. 3. Pretending Gambit is a ritual. This is a game mode that had some potential, but with near zero development, it is bizarre and awkward to try to push this as a “ritual” to me as a player. There is a ton of other content they could treat as a ritual activity over Gambit, they just don’t want to make it free. And that is the DLC playlist activities, for example. Gambit competes with Empire Hunts dude. That’s how little people play Gambit. Whatever they did, if they needed a third core playlist, Gambit is not actually it. And I loved Gambit Prime. Gambit’s time has passed. Keep the Drifter but please stop pretending. 4. Difficulty changes. I am a fan of having kicked up the base difficulty because strikes really were a joke. It should be sort of mid to entry level content and it still is, it’s not running a lost sector with your friends bad anymore. However, everywhere else in the game, the difficulty feels off. I have felt for years that they tuned it for people who are not average players, but for people who are way above average, and for what reason I do not know. And in response they keep trying to push sandbox items to contend with the difficulty rather than balancing the sandbox and tuning the difficulty right. I have lost interest in aspirational content when I can do no more than copy a build from an outlier and find out it doesn’t work for me. The truth is, I can’t do it anymore. I build into tons of sustain and still struggle. And it’s clear the majority of average players do because it’s not like the numbers on succeeding in aspirational content have gone up significantly. The fact that there are posts that suggest solo dungeons have never been easier because of a given sandbox change, like, I do not want that to be the reason I succeed and I suspect I am not alone. After years long damage done here, it tells me that Bungie doesn’t get it. They do not understand me as a player. Why should I care about Bungie, Destiny, or Marathon? The plot has been lost, completely.

1 返信Designing a game around pc macros killed this game. Look, they needed pc money, but the console player was nerfed heavily in the process. The typical console player isn't able to hot swap weapons, use tether one-two punch shotgun effectively, or move like a pc player. Present raid excluded, this game is not that hard. GM's are a cake walk now, dungeons aren't crazy hard (although I haven't been able to solo the last 2)... but I would say that 50% of the player base was left in the dust because bungie is designing the game different now. This raid was the icing on the cake. Instead of drawing those fringe players back in, they created a raid where you have to dedicate your life with 5 other people to become masters of the encounters. I have hundreds of raid clears, but screw that. I'm here for fun.
