TLDR:
Parsons not leaving but Herman hulst now has final say on every big decision, so Sony in charge.
'Payback' new destiny game/D3 cancelled indefinitely
D2 content going forward will be very light as far less people to work on it
No more expansions going forward, new name is content packs, much lighter content.
Marathon aimed at 2025 & all bungie are betting on
Gummy bears still a project, moba, but it's now a Sony game so PSN exclusive, working out of bungie studios but no longer bungie employees.
150 staff told to move to Sony studios with no clue were they're going it what they're doing.
Sony & Bungie see destiny as in a death spiral, no way back. If marathon flops bungie cease to be.

1 返信* D2 simply cannot reach Fortnite/Call of duty numbers but it still makes a crazy amount of money to not support it lol. Sony is not going to throw away 600+ million dollars a year away... Same gameplay less resources/money spent on expensive cutscenes. It was not worth the cost Story told with more lore/text/voice fashion. Basically how destiny used to be for long time fans. Sounds good to me

Of course Marathon will flop. It’s a hero extraction shooter built by people who thought they could sell $30 DLCs for $100. They decided making new stuff was too much work so they re-release old gear over and over with slight changes to mods. They literally told their devs to dial it back and underdeliver. And of course D2 will die without any new DLCs or major content drops. They pulled the life support on Bungie and now it’s just liquidating the assets and writing it off on their taxes.

Not going to lie, I hope Marathon fails as hard as is possible. They've pissed the money I spent in prior years on Destiny screwing around with unrelated PvP nonsense and I do hope it lands on its face right out the gate.

This company is toast!🤣🤣🤣 I will not buy Marathon or any other game this company will come up with after what they’ve done here. It’s a massacre!🤣🤣🤣 These guys don’t own their behinds anymore, Sony does. And yes, Sony will take over. This company is caput!!! 🤣🤣🤣 A complete disaster! 🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!

14 通の返信Payback was never gonna be a D3 considering Frontiers is a leak that all of D1 is going into D2 and D2 was gonna receive a complete overhaul It makes NO sense to make a D3 since that would mean no more D2 and after the work id take to pull of frontiers that makes no sense. Id more then likely be a Destiny spin off game

3 通の返信I will never play marathon because they completely changed it from the original idea. I honestly feel like quitting Destiny 2 now. definitely not grinding for anything anymore, maybe casual mindless play will be more fun anyway for the time being. sad but eventually things change.

They always blame the players, like with their server connection error codes. We all have no problems with other games, yet when we can't connect to destiny it's "our internet". If BNG can acknowledge their social experiment didn't work and focus on players and fun content, there's still a whole universe to explore.

2 通の返信If they aren't doing any expansions going forward, then this game is officially on life support. People will probably stick around for the rest of the year since they already bought in. But after that? I don't see many people sticking around much longer.

This is how I view it. [b][u]IF #1 (Destiny2)[/u][/b] If they just manage to upkeep the current non-seasonal stuff (ritual playlists..vendors..dares..etc).. make the seasonal events and Iron Banner top-level.. bring back a few old content things on a rotator and every once in a while a content drop.. and this is all able to [u]keep up a meaningful population[/u].. I see it as better even than the current state. [b][u]IF #2 (Marathon)[/u][/b] If they add "normal" PVP type game-modes it has a chance. Not interested in the extraction shooter portion.. but regular PVP with similar movement/gun-feel.. in the new game.. its got a chance. -
