Every time an auto title is meta in pvp, people get upset. Every time. Not hand cannons though
I'm an auto rifle guy. Or rather I'd like to be. But it's impossible to ever run because any time they're ever good, people cry. Hard Light and then Khvostov. 10 people in 3 straight lobbies using hand cannons though? Completely okay. I just don't care about pvp anymore like I did a few years ago.

1 返信It’s always funny to watch / read post on these forums. You will see a group of people who want: “gun only “ game play. “less special ammo “ “less space magic “ Then Bungie puts in special ammo bars to fill up, or special ammo boxes, and tunes down recharge rates of abilities and supers. The community then switches to primary/ Kinetic weapons mostly. Then the community complains “ it only primarily gun play now!!” Like, you give feedback, if Bungie decides to take the game in that direction, you then don’t like when players adjust to the new changes. 🙂🙄🤔🍿

Autoriffles arent a community favourite weapon type thats all. Just accept it x) Also people werent complaining that much about summoner or even gnawing hunger. The 2 guns you mentionned were meta because they were dumb (taking dmg from bounces/ricochets is not a fair way to take dmg)

1 返信As someone who served in the infantry, it will never stop bothering me (even though I know it's a game) that sidearms and revolvers (sorry, hand cannons) are weapons that can outduel something like an auto rifle or any long gun. Only in close-quarter combat (like in rooms) do personal weapons come close to being the better choice, but then again, that's why SMGs and carbines exist. In real life, if you are using a sidearm then you are probably in trouble. But of course, this is a game where you can magically generate grenades and summon space magic so I just go with the head canon that the Light favors handguns for some reason and gives them some extra spice.

1 返信It's been like that since the destin 1 beta when they nerfed the original khovstov. And the original suros prime got nerfed to the ground shortly after D1 got rolling. I still remember takin Vex mythoclast into pvp after vault of glass originally dropped. Ppl cried so hard and got it nerfed into the dirt.

Submachine guns would like a word… But to make it simple. The easier something is to use the more it being meta harms the rest of the game… Especially something like the new Khovostov which gives you passive benefit for literally doing what you’re supposed to do…

Sure some guns may be the most used, but if i want to use cerberus (or any guns i like) against an handcannon, i want to have a chance.

7 通の返信Because it takes negative brain power to use an auto rifle. It’s hilarious how casual players hate hand cannon / shotgun and swear with their entire existence that it’s a broken load out, but for some reason whenever they put it on it’s like they’ve never played an FPS game before in their life. Interesting how that works.

Besides Khvostov, there are still plenty of viable ARs in the meta that do not get a free damage boost for simply having a full magazine. Khvostov and Hard Light deserves/deserved nerfs as they are/were extreme outliers that both have incredibly unfair advantages (infinite range in Hard Light’s case, free TTK shift in Khvostov’s, highly oppressive ricochet in both cases). If you want to use an AR, Prosecutor and Summoner are still excellent and competitive options (hint: Summoner was never nerfed since last season, it is still just as ridiculous as before). ARs are 100% viable in the current sandbox in nearly all levels of play. They do start to drop off as players get better but oppressive pre-firing is still potent at nearly all ELOs. If you think you can’t compete with ARs in the current meta after Khvostov is nerfed, you are just wrong.

5 通の返信.......Ammit, Prosecutor, Summoner, Gnawing Hunger, Suros Regime, Riposte (soon to be), were / are also meta.....not to mention many other functional ARs including Quicksilver Storm, Lethal Abundance.......and some that have flown under the radar such as Come To Pass and Sweet Sorrow / Stasis/ Bakris which was insane. Many, if not all of these are still highly functional. I see players specializing with them still. Khvostov is a problem only when encountering a 1200rpm - 1800rpm player turret (in 6s). Its easily countered in 1v1. Its also the new assist king. In 3s Khvostov is for chip damage by good solo players not having to worry so much about non-functional randoms. Can you blame them? Khvostov will still be there for you in 6s in its intended capacity....even post-nerf. Probably still be a viable 3s chip damage tool too. We'll see.

Dunno man been dying to autos killing me from full at extreme ranges as of the DLC, as well as getting some myself that I kinda feel like I was way out of range for that as of late. They kinda feel a bit overtuned right now to me.

Theres been no recent metas where you have been forced to use a hand cannon its all recently been autos and pulses. And the 120 meta was unliked as well.

4 通の返信450 auto rifles have been good for years. 600 autos are good as well. When using an auto rifle you don’t have to worry about positioning or movement. You can miss several shots and still achieve a TTK that’s faster than a handcannon with perfect accuracy. Meta implies easy accessibility and ease of use. Let’s take aiming skill out of the equation since I know someone out there will mention the aim assist stat on handcannons. Hand cannons reward good fundamentals while auto rifles allow you to forego fundamentals and still have relative success.

Hand cannon usage is objectively lower than autos, pulses and scouts.
