Last 2 weeks when people been moaning its locked behind a group they have been told to stop moaning cause the mission was so amazing so surely you do it cause its so fun?

Every grind feels like a waste of time until you get what you want. That moment has to matter though - the tedious grind and boredom has to be worth the reward in the end. Whether that is the case for the class items is questionable, because unlike all the solo players complaining like to pretend, they are not really essential for anything.

I know. It's been a dangerous factor for my escapism and borderline gaming addiction. It has its fun moments, but the grind is excessive. What's amusing is that I am considering running dungeons to avoid getting too bored with post campaign slog.

we are talking about the Destiny community here. We aren't allowed to do things for fun. It has to be top tier rewards with little effort. I happen to fall somewhere in the middle of the 2. My top tier player days were left behind in Destiny 1. I pretty much play just to have fun. Ooops, there's that unallowed word again At first I wasn't on board with it being timed, but after doing it I actually enjoy it, except for the last flashing clock wall. I feel that could be slowed a bit as i'm older and things don't process as fast in my brain as they once did. THAT was making me mad, I grew up reading clocks like that and my old butt was constantly losing the clock before getting the third number. I can't imagine how infuriating it would be for people who only ever used digital clocks lol 30-40 minutes(faster probably as one gets more efficient) for a guaranteed exotic class item beats farming chests(takes me at least an hour to finally get one from a chest) if someone wants to JUST go for the class item. I'll probably do both once I get my wife through it, which will probably require me playing her account once i get her characters set up more like mine so my dumb old brain can play them more easily.
-
I found it fun, but I never saw it as "how I would farm the class item". It just unlocked the ability to get the class item while doing pale heart chests for me. Loads of things are fun, but you don't choose to do them every waking moment, or even do them again despite them being fun.
Last 2 weeks when people been moaning its locked behind a group they have been told to stop moaning cause the mission was so amazing so surely you do it cause its so fun?
THIS !!! "Bro get a friend, it's the MOST FUN thing destiny has ever had !!" Now the minute they drop the rewards, "wahhhh this sucks now" well well well

Just because a thing is great does not mean you want to do it over and over again. If that were the case, Vow of the Disciple would have a much more consistent fan base and population when it’s not on rotation. Loot is incentive to play an activity, whether it be good or not. Even if the activity is good, what point is there in running it if there are other things you need/want to do and you have what you need.
-
beg to differ If it is SO great, then players WILL do it over and over and over. They are not, why? If the rewards are great players will do the activity over and over and over. They are not great! If the activity is a pain in the -blam!-, not engaging or fun and the rewards can be earned in another way; WHY would anyone choose that activity? They would not! Easier, more fun, more engaging and more rewarding, is a no brainer. Duel Destiny was a half -blam!- Idea from the get go. More of bungie making things more complicated and harder just to make them more complicated and harder. Rather then focusing on fun and engaging content that is also rewarding they went with the elitist, "gotta make it harder or it ain't fun" mentality. Bungie does not get it. Make the game fun for the masses and put in the hard stuff for those that want it, but the base game, fun and engaging it should be! Sell a DLC on rewards and a new class item to go with the new sub class; them lock that class item behind content most players can't do. Well you get what happened, player complaining, upset and they will continue to leave over stupid decisions like this one.

Can’t or won’t. The mission is honestly not that hard. I did it blind, and while I had prior raid knowledge to boot, the mission was pretty intuitive That being said, I also had a “guide” in the sense that once I figured out the mechanic, he would reveal the strategy, and how we should do it. It’s a good mission, but at the end of the day, we play the game to loot, and if there are other, more pressing loot options, the mission will be left at the wayside. Again, I point to Vow of the Disciple. A great raid all around, arguably one of the best, yet it has a low player population.

You had a guide. You thought it was easy. You have raid experience. What I hear you saying is that you are a better than average player. My friend and his son with no guide, zero raid experience, spent an hour and 20 minutes running it last night and logged off without finishing it. Neither of them said wow this is easy, fun and engaging. Both left with a defeated tone in their voice. The mission is not easy for the average player! FACT, indisputable fact! The mission is NOT intuitive as in, who does what and when or where they need to be. The timer is a killer. They ran out of time several attempts in a row before giving up entirely. I hear you saying ti was easy for you with a guide and experience. Good for you. I am glad you like this kind of content. It is NOT for the average player. The "lets make basic content for all players harder" mentality has hurt this game and company. The New class item needed by every single person who bought the expansion is inaccessible because Bungie is a bunch of idiots who think harder is better. They want content to be so hard players cry. This is no way to design games.

BarStoolにより編集済み: 6/26/2024 9:00:01 PMI had no prior experience in the mission. All I knew about it was that there was something to do with a clock. I could interpret what that means, but that does not settle me into a position of actually knowing what to do. Experience means little when trying to solve puzzles. Just look at Last Wish or Salvations Edge. Both had puzzle encounters, and both took forever to complete. The prior knowledge I had was memorization of the VotD symbols, which lead to easier communication and that’s it. As for calling me above average. Thank you. I personally don’t think I’m all that good, but hey, who knows. The mission is rather intuitive. One person can see what the other can’t. One person can interact with what the other can’t. It might mean that there needs to be some level of communication between the two players to figure out what information is needed. That can be seen in saying one Symbols need to be shot, or what clock numbers need to be shot. It takes a bit of thinking, and is thus, not mindless, but it’s a rather easy puzzle. Edit: the guide wanted me to figure out the mechanics myself before fully revealing them, so yes, I did have one player who knew what they were doing, but it was a blind run in essence.

Uncle Festerにより編集済み: 6/27/2024 2:19:14 AMIf you are doing and memorizing raids, you are above average. I mean that as a compliment, your good, better than me. I am glad you got this done. Despite my misgiving, and refusal to purchase this hot mess. My friend bought this so I would play the game with him. So I tried this tonight. It is not designed for average players. Not the best gear, not the best weapons, not the best build; average. One stat at 100, and the best gear and perks on weapons I can find. Just average. Bungie thinks this is engaging content, but it is disheartening to fail over and over and over. At some point players just give up. I give up, I will not be beating my head against this wall for a week every night to try and get this done. Just is not worth it. It is too bad; bungie had a half way decent story going, now this crap. Just more of last years harder than it needs to be content for some unknown reason. Edit, good luck to you, hope you have a lot of fun. I am out.
