Yeah I was dissapointed in the total lack of synnergy for ascension too. Doesn't work with much of anything at all sadly.
It's basically a non-option for me in It's current state

Yeah in particular I was also annoyed to learn thruster has basically the same lack of synnergy as hunters ascension within prismatic given how many things work only with barricade specifically. Certainly not the only missed synnergy opportunities out there, but those are some especially annoying limitations to prismatic builds.
