Dear Bungie,
Please stop creating dull seasonal (episodic?) activities that require guides to figure out and can be easily sabotaged by other players.
Collecting Radiolite Samples is oftentimes cut short because some random blueberry moves on to the next step in the activity, shrinking the roam-around space.
What the hell is the Planetary Piston Hammer for!? Why do I have to Google this in-game item to know what it does!? Why is EVERYTHING so poorly explained!?
Arena: Breach Executable is the epitome of how to NOT design a seasonal activity. Enigma Protocol is not much better. The latter feels way too restrictive with a high probability of failure while the former is unbelievably dull and unnecessarily confusing.
This might be the first time that I fail to complete the seasonal quest. It’s just too boring and/or frustrating. Some may like it and I’m not here to disparage anyone but I’d rather gouge my eyeballs out with a wooden cooking spoon (George Carlin reference) than continue to play these dull and poorly designed activities.

3 通の返信I literally type in chat to use the hammer charges and don’t skip it and of course the random skips it

1 返信"There's no time to explain why there's no time to explain" is still what's wrong with Bungie.

Blueberries do it out of ignorance of the finer points of the challenge. What excuse do 9s and 10s have?

Episodes are the same as seasons. They’ve changed nothing and pretended to “listen to feedback” again. They literally just changed the name and the number of releases per year and are hoping their fanboys accept it.

4 通の返信Planetary Piston Hammer sounds like something from an adult movie. Imagine Guardians having a serious discussion over it and it gets really weird and funny the more you think about it.

3 通の返信Bro they explained the piston hammer in game. Were you just to busy not reading what failsafe was saying to you?
-
1 返信It may be that I have played this game for so long that I instantly knew what to do, but I am fairly sure there was a text explanation when it was given to us, and I almost always have the planetary material "wombo combo" Ghost mod on (especially since it is only 2 energy now) so the nodes all popped up around me. However if you don't have that active you probably would have to pay special attention to your surrounding to see them spawn in, and so might miss that step. Perhaps they need to enable the mod automatically for the mission?
-
First off, I fully agree that randoms are annoying when they just run to the next part when collecting the materials gives more rewards at the end. However, I'm pretty sure the game does tell you how to use the piston hammer. It has a description that explains how it works and how to get more charges for it. You also have a marker pop-up on your screen when you're close to the thing to use it on. No guides are needed in any way to figure out how to use them. Should they have probably explained it a little better? Yeah, they should have so that way the randoms would hopefully stop just running forward.

3 通の返信My #1 issue with the game is not being able to learn things inside of the game, be this Past Seasons, Removed Campaigns, and especially NEW THINGS.
-
2 通の返信Why is EVERYTHING so poorly explained!? Because much of the game is made to drive traffic to YouTube and not be played yourself in the game. I particularly enjoyed the momentary pop-up explanations, during combat, which evaporated into the ether never to be found again, simultaneously appearing over subtitles so NEITHER could be read.

1 返信I joined a new lights fireteam finder, literal rank 5 guardian with only a few hours playtime, we activated both hammerpistons each run because I told him its more loot and he wanted to know how. Just because you are unwilling to form a proper team or communicate doesnt give you the right to complain about random matchmaking and then “hoping” everyone is gonna do what you’re thinking The arrogance.

Both activities are not perfect, but your points are pathetic. Enigma Protocol is not hard. You got plenty of time, especially with the upgrade this week adding 30s per player who got it. Everything is explained. Maybe listen to your favorite AI thats not completely mad (yet). I missed failsafe. I didn't realized how much until now xD

2 通の返信Dude, most times its not even people meaning to sabotage. I mean in the past 10 years, what activity asked us to slow down, and scavenge for plants...... none.

This has been my number one issue with the game and why I was 90% PVP only until recently. There’s nothing more frustrating than roaming around endlessly trying to figure out what I’m supposed to be doing on some missions and activities. The in-game guide and instructions are basically non existent and I don’t like getting on games just to google search or sift through a hundred 20 minute YouTube videos trying to find one that just gets to the point and tells me what to do. Most of the time I just quit the activity until I’m not irritated enough to actually look up the instructions.
