Bungie did it this way to push us into the dying content that they haven't touched in years. Only cheats and egomaniacs play PvP, so a lot of casuals stay away. And the only thing they've done in Gambit is to add annoying shriekers and tormentors to make it more "challenging". If they can put a pathfinder in purely for one area, they can put one in for each mode. PvP, strikes and Gambit.

Completely agree. I came here because I just reset my first pathfinder this week and when I saw my last 2 on my next one were either Crucible or Gambit. Immediately finished with pathfinder this week. I understand the benefits and ease of use of the pathfinder system but Destiny is not a game I play for PVP. I have other games to scratch that itch and have no interest in the playstyle offered. When they changed the weekly pinnacle to be 3/6/9 matches of whichever playlist we wanted, I thought that was a big step forward to allowing us to actually play and earn rewards how we wanted but this pathfinder system is a step in the other direction. I just hope they hear us.

Took me almost 2 hours to get the helium ignition node done. I was with my Warlock, using Subracers+Drangonbreath+BXR-55, and got stuck in 60%. Had to jump on my Titan with a Pyrogale build to complete it. Pathfinder is not only highly bugged but is also super annoying. It's there to bump activity numbers artificially and stall player progression and bright dust farm. We are doing more to get less. Typical BUNGO dirty move.

honestly i can’t do it. i have played so much gambit i can almost reset my rank and im barely halfway through the gambit pathfinder. for one prime engram this is way too much.

That's why I only do the Pale Heart pathfinder, it's 100% PvE stuff only.

I get where Bungie are going with this - It's about promoting D2 as a whole product, not just a selection of different activities that you get to pick and choose from. D2 has a bunch of different game modes to play that people get to choose from. I think the idea of Pathfinder is to take those players that only do Strikes or only do Crucible, and push them to try something else, as a lot of players find what they like, hyperfocus on that and never try anything else. In reality, the game has around 150k players (on Steam) right now, but the forums don't have 150k players complaining about Pathfinder, which suggests that the vast majority of players either don't have an issue with Pathfinder pushing game modes they don't like, they've simply gone a different path, or the did the node activity and carried on. Hell, some of them may have even stuck around in those other game modes after the node was complete...which would be the point of Pathfinder. Point being that the amount of people who will get upset over a node, refuse to do it and so not complete a Pathfinder run is probably very, very low compared to the players that just get on with it and try something they'd otherwise not.

I find that decision odd. They changed ritual challenges not that long ago so we could finish it playing what we want, now they do a 180 with pathfinder smh.
