I have run Novabomb through half of the legendary campaign now, and it still feels underwhelming. The node tracking and speed seems like it had an improvement, but all round damage is still lacking. Please tweak it a little more so that it genuinely feels viable.
I understand i should hold back judgement until it's paired with the spirit of the star eater, but as it is, it's still poor.
Ohh and this is probably a stupid question, but can we only wear the exotic class item on its own. Or can we wear an exotic with it? That sounds a bit op tbh.

A super that does 2x the damage of an explosive light rocket. A complete joke and one of the reasons I’ve barely touched voidlocks in years. What, because they get full devour the supers should suck? Get over yourself, Bungie balance guy/team. You’ve lost touch.

Don’t you love how us warlocks get one slow novabomb that can barely kill anything and then titans get three giant axes that do aoe damage and then on top off it everyone else gets to use one 😂 they hate warlocks. I main broodweaver and im convinced needle storm is the worst pvp super in this game by far.

2 通の返信Nova bomb has never been a DPS super and will likely never be unless they add a exotic that buffs its damage similar to Nighthawk and Thundercrash. But nova bomb has something those two dont have. Crowd control. Throw it on a big boss thats surrounded by adds and you get two burds with one stone. Need to take care of a tanky group of majors from a safe distance, nova them. Need to scare anybody in the mayhem playlist, giant nova bomb them lol. Im almost certain that it will get a exotic that buffs its damage soon as its the last of the holy trio to get one. The original classes where Hunter was Solar, Titan was Arc, and Warlock was Void. Thats how i see they will do it all

First, they need to revamp Nova Bomb Vortex, and just straight buff Cataclysm. Cataclysm is powerful. It is Destructive. You are releasing all your Light all at once so it makes sense that it is a slow moving mass. You are putting now power behind how it functions, so that when it explodes, it’s a cataclysm. I like the identity it has so no major change there. Just buff its damage and whatnot. Maybe buff its aggression toward high tier adds, like Major, Ultras, Champions, and the sorts. Nova Bomb Vortex, on the other hand, lacks a clear identity as of now. Sure, it has a vortex, and flies pretty fast, but right now, it’s just a basic Nova Bomb. Here is what I suggest. Give it a charge Mechanic. You hold down the super button/s causing the super to charge up until a point. Upon releasing the super, you have a Nova Bomb of proportional Strength, speed, and size to the charge time. It shoots straighter, glows brighter, and lasts longer. Maybe it makes combatants Weakened and Volatile upon hit, or create a new effect called Shattered where they take 30 % more damage for a short duration. Maybe make it so that when the Nova Bomb hits, it has intrinsic Anti Champion to ALL champions when fully charged. Most of this just boils down to make it Lance from D1 and make it charge. They should also introduce an exotic that causes your Nova Bombs to be launched out in 3s, much like the ability back in D1. For Cataclysm, you launch 3 minis that upon destruction, will split into two minis that cause Volatile. For Vortex, charging it for longer boosts you up to 6 mini vortex’s.

Slova really needs smart tracking. Make it target whoever's in your crosshairs when you launch the bomb, and not going to the nearest trash ad that's 15m from the intended target. My only other complaint is that the seekers are still finicky. I still see them fail to spawn if you fire it too close to an enemy, and imo they may as well be removed with the damage compensated by going to the main bomb. If I wanted mini novas, I'd rather they just make a new exotic or rework and older one like Skull to give us Shatter Bombs back.

3 通の返信Yet your Helion buddy with ashes can put out 300k damage on a single target alongside whatever other supers and weapons you use. Any other class able to get a free extra 300k passive damage? 290 odd k if you want to be pedantic.

2 通の返信It feels like it's dealing more damage than my Marksman's Golden Gun, GG has to hit precision shots. Nova Bomb just gets to dunk.

2 通の返信Well they didn't improve the damage. They just tweaked the seekers for Cataclysm and increased the duration of Vortex. It will still perform at suboptimal levels compared to other supers.

It does feel better. I know it has to be balanced against its ease of use. But it still feels a little underwhelming. Ive only used slowva bomb so maybe that has something to do with it. If i was going to change something i would want ally projectiles to pass through slowva bomb. Then straighten the arc on the vortex bomb to make it slightly easier to use. i still miss my triple bomb nova. Just throwing that out there.
