I just want to express how strongly I feel that hardware shouldn't be implemented as a core mode/or rules to other game modes. Taking abilities and movment tech away from Destiny makes it feel not like Destiny. It feels like some offbrand generic CoD replica, please can we just lean into the crazy space magic the game was founded on. Destiny will never be an arena shooter, and it seems silly and a waste of time to put dev work into pursuing something that is so against what the core game is about.

If you want ability cooldown simulator then play WoW maybe. (See the argument works both ways). If mayhem has a place then so too does Hardware. Destiny isn’t just movement and abilities it’s also unparalleled gunplay. I’d like Hardware as the comp game mode but trials to have abilities.

Everything you're saying would be great if people would play the "core game" in PvP without having to have it sliced and diced in real time. They haven't said anything even approaching something like it being the default mode for PvP. Its good that its an option though, because the everything everywhere approach hasn't always worked. Plus prismatic is coming and the newer maps look like they feature more close quarters areas than a lot of the maps people are currently used to.

9 通の返信Some people want more gunplay, some people want more space magic and some want a balance of the two. I’d like to see 3 core playlists that offered those things. Trying to find a perfect balance that suits everybody is a fool’s errand.

3 通の返信Feel free to lean Into Mayhem if that's your cup of tea. I, for one, would love a game mode where there's abilities and gunplay, if the abilities actually supplemented player skill better. The ease of use, the ridiculous reliance on DR and overshields, the autotargeting and tracking, the lack of needing a basic sense of timing or any game sense most abilities require is the reason I'd rather just cut them out for a playlist here and there. It's like... I'd rather have the flu than bone cancer, since there's no option to have neither.

I just think its better if they just focused on actual fun modes like multi team, king of the hill, oddball, juggernaut, etc. Im sick of the nth variant of clash or control thats feels the same for 90% of the match.
