Watch Datto. He has a few videos on good raid dps, as well as extremely well put guides for every raid and dungeon.
From there, load into an lfg, and just try your best. Most people are willing to teach as long as you have an idea of what you’re doing (from the videos) or you’re willing to try.
You should also work on two things after getting the mechanics down, which are DPS and optimization:
You should find yourself a good rocket launcher. I recommend crafting Apex Predator using Riven’s wishes. A good linear fusion will also do wonders, but most of them require some raid completions to craft or get a good roll.
You should run exotics that are fun, but viable. I notice you’re using Ex Diris and Mothkeeper Wraps. This is a good trash ad clear build, but not one for high dps or higher level ad clear. I’d reccomend messing around with different exotics, and try to use an exotic primary. I say this because exotic primaries have consistent uptime and good perks (sunshot, quicksilver storm, etc) and you should not waste an exotic slot on a heavy or special weapon unless your build requires it.

Last night I made the post because I was frustrated by the Solo Legend Lost Sector, which led me to wonder what the "proper" progression of content should be (Though Mothwraps/Ex Diris managed to finally get me through). After the campaigns/legendary missions, do I go to Nightfalls? Do I try Seasonal Activities? Should I farm Into the Light shinies? I'm mostly confused by the maze of myriad activities and which one will beat prepare me for the next bunch of more difficult content. I am extremely aware of how limited my arsenal is. What I really need is better armor 😅

If you need high stat armor, you should farm master dungeons while having high stat mods on your ghost. In terms of progression, do whatever you want. There’s no direct path, just dabble in whatnot and try everything out. However, if you’d rather have a list of to-dos, try following the Guardian Rank Up requirements, as they give you information on what you should do next.

Idk how I'll farm master dungeons when I've been through 5 fireteams and *still* can't beat the boss of Warlord's Ruin on normal. On that point, when/do activity checkpoints expire? Weekly reset, end of season, never? I'm at the final checkpoint and would like to capitalize on that rather than redo the entire dungeon.

Checkpoints expire at the end of the week on reset which is Tuesdays at 10 PST. If you need help with Warlord’s ruin, I could try and help you outside of these forums. If you have discord I can try and communicate with you better.
