They nerfed it because of PvP, just because some time has passed doesn’t mean it won’t be a problem again when you unnerf it. They don’t do split balance sandboxes. If anything, it would be more of a problem in PvP now, as it gave energy back on hits, and with higher global cooldowns, recharge is broken.

I don't know if you noticed but the title of the post is unnerf it in PvE. They can and have in the past separated the sandbox with exotics (shinobu's vow is an example of this). It didn't need to be butchered in PvE in the first place.
-
They separate them ALL THE TIME. There was ZERO excuse for YAS to get a sledgehammer taken to it. None. shinobu's vow on lightgg even says it has different values They just recently seperated cooldowns in PvP and PvE with the strand clone and suspend dive. They don't have an excuse anymore and Young Ahamkara's Spine is now a worthless exotic because they were too lazy to make an actual balance pass.

Ramsにより編集済み: 4/4/2024 9:00:58 PMIt’s specifically exotic perks that don’t get changed between PvP and PvE. If i had to guess based off of that shinobus description, is that they are able to separate the values (give a different value in PvE and PvP), but not make the perk work different/have a different perk between gamemodes. IDK why they didn’t just lower the energy gain from hits in PvP, but my guess is that the amount was hard coded into the perk, and not a variable that could be changed without remaking the perk. Who knows. I thibk this is the same reason why only values get changed between PvP and PvE and not functionality.

My guy. They could have done literally the same thing before they changed it. That’s why I SPECIFICALLY brought up shinobu’s vow. They worked the same before. If they really don’t want ability energy coming back in PvP they could have just set the energy you get from hitting guardians to zero. There is no excuse. YAS had zero reasoning for its nerf in PvE.

You have no idea why they did it the way they did. It could be any number of reasons, INCLUDING them being lazy. You don’t know, don’t jump to conclusions. Telling me to use critical thinking is insane. At the end of the day, do what we always have to do, adapt to whatever else is available.
-
So what? I shouldn’t give feedback because…. What? I shouldn’t be upset that my favorite exotic was nerfed into uselessness because why? I don’t get what your point is. If they had the resources to completely change how the ability energy is gained then they sure as hell had enough resources to do an ACTUAL BALANCE PASS instead of just destroying the exotic in both modes. You’re literally doing nothing but making excuses for them.
-
Yeah, but like i said earlier, it could have been hardcoded, which would mean they would need to rework the perk. But at that point, why completely rework it and not keep the fundamentals of how it worked to begin with. Once again, it’s more work than needed, and we don’t know why they did it.

You’re absolutely right it is stupid, but I don’t believe the developers at Bungie are that. They’ve made smart decisions and reworks before. That’s why I’m referring to it as LAZINESS. They clearly can and have changed things in ways that separate the sandboxes but they had a knee jerk reaction to crucible crybabies doing what they do best and took a sledgehammer to it. I’m simply asking for them to revisit this exotic and make the change that they should have made in the first place.
