I've been a gamer for a long time now. I started with the Atari (River Raid, Pole Position, Asteroid), after with Sega Genesis (Sonic, X-Men 2) and then on the PC with Quake, Duke Nukem, Tomb Raider and I never stopped since then. I still have all my game consoles from the Atari until now as well as all the games I bought. Like I love to say "gamer one day"..."gamer always". Also, I have three kids and three grandchildren and they're all gamers. What a legacy!
I started playing Destiny in 2017 and it was my first experience with other players. I thought it was pretty cool to see so many players everywhere and I thought I'd have a lot of fun. However, I was disappointed by the behavior of some players after a while, but hey, it happens. The world of video games is a unique world in itself, but it's still made up of human beings. All the veterans here will tell you that Destiny wasn't always as crappy as it is right now.
All of this to say that it's not anyone's fault in particular, but that nothing can really work well under continual criticism. Bungie needs to make an huge effort to "revive" Destiny properly and players must also contribute by doing their best to ensure that Destiny survives. Otherwise, it will soon be the end of Destiny...
Remember: not all players have the same skill level and they all have their reasons for playing, but they all have one thing in common...They all love to play.
Take care and keep on gaming guardians... :)

3 通の返信If you’ve never tried it before, I highly HIGHLY reccomend Square Enix’s remakes of the tomb raider games. Genuinely some of the most fun, engaging, and genuinely intuitive plat forming, world exploration, and overall gameplay I’ve ever played. The first one especially is an absolute masterpiece.

3 通の返信I guess. When something is generally thought of as being quality and devoid of scummy practices, the masses are generally in good spirits. When the opposite is true....the opposite is true. And the truth here is that D2 and Destiny as an IP, is at its end. No matter the bickering, complaining, mismanagement, micros....good and bad... It is at an end. When I saw dunking the ball mechanic AGAIN on this latest stream, I confirmed it within myself. Grats for playing games.

1 返信I'm a little older than you and just passed 6000 hours on D2. Played Pong on a Commodore 64. Really got into gaming when I got a PowerPc and Marathon. Had a PC for Duke Nukem and Doom, etc. Unreal was one of my favorites and also Dues Ex. I've still got my Atari, Game Cube (Metroid Prime!), PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Mac G5 and Mac Pro. I run Windows 10 on the Mac Pro for Prime games and also Steam. I've got about 250 games on the Xbox One. I prefer story driven solo stuff. I miss the old Friday night sessions; computer room, lights off, creeping down the corridor of an abandoned spacecraft. What was that sound?!

Thank you and you take care as well! Happy gaming ✌️✌🏽✌🏿

4 通の返信Vile Ratにより編集済み: 3/21/2024 8:25:26 PMYou're a rare breed. At that age and not too many females play. I'm 56 and have been video gaming since the 1970's with Pong. I love gaming and I'll never stop. The only thing is that it gets frustrating because back in the late 1990's I was one of the top players in Unreal Tournament Deathmatch. But I can't even play Crucible because my reaction time has slowed and I get absolutely slaughtered by the younger gen.

2 通の返信We have the real life eve levante here 😉👍 Seriously though this is awesome. Love seeing veteran gamers still at it. It gives me hope at 40 I'll be still gaming at that age. Definitely one of the more wholesome and cool aspects of gaming. Ya kick -blam!- guardian 😳

1 返信jr_0081により編集済み: 3/23/2024 2:06:01 PMThank you for sharing your story, I too have been playing destiny for a long time I think when I was 7 I got it for my birthday and now even though I am near to be an adult I still play and love the game and I agree that the messages from the into the light livestream was really disappointing and there was no excuse for that behavior especially since it is free. I too was disappointed with lightfall release but strand was cool and I see the games you mentioned and I have to say I played some of those games they were amazing and I gonna be honest some of my favorite games were before my time like Godzilla destroy all monsters melee and sonic and halo ce-reach which were the best halo games and I love to see people from many ages sharing the gaming experience even my dad plays video games and we been playing helldivers which is a really good game

1 返信The Hermit IXにより編集済み: 3/23/2024 6:27:30 AMHey grandma…. That’s awfully big teeth you have. I think it’s awesome you game at 71. That in itself, deserves a tip of the cap. Play and have fun. Ignore the trolls in the process. Don’t let anyone ruin your experience.

2 通の返信Hello 71-year-old gamer woman. Do you remember seeing this same kind of doomerism for the last ten years, every year, on every dry period? Because I do. The thing connecting Destiny players IS true. We love to play. What connects people who post on Destiny reddit, forums, Twitter? They love to cry that the game is dying! Respectfully, 25-Year-Old Gamer Man P.S. Pound for pound, feature for feature, d2 today has better powers, better guns, better campaigns, better updates, and better raids. Each new piece doesn't always outclass every old thing in every way, but the game is always more than its last update

4 通の返信I'm not really sure why this is in the feedback section since this seems more like it's for other players and not necessarily for Bungie. That said while I agree that not all players have the same skill or reason for playing criticisms and feedback are what will guide Bungie to offering the experience players want. Both Players and even Bungie's content standards have fluctuated over the years, and not every change was agreed upon or even popular within the playerbase. Sunsetting and the DCV remain to be the most controversial and I would say unpopular change made for the game. It's still talked about and it occurred almost 4 years ago. I haven't met a single person who said anything positive other than possibly than that it may have been necessary because of file size. Nobody enjoyed losing planets, the story, strikes, raids, or even PvP maps. Honestly just for myself I still disagree that Sunsetting and the DCV even was necessary. All of the problematic items of that era were eventually meta shifted out and nerfed as all things are in Destiny 2 as a meta focused game. Revoker, Mountaintop, Luna's Howl and Recluse don't exist in any meta and may never again, but those items were only a problem because when they launched Bungie intentionally shifted them and their archetype HARD into the meta. As for the DCV many games have separate yet connected versions. Had Bungie achieved this while maintaining a connected vault between each version we could've had a new version of D2 every 3 or 4 years that continued the narrative and added to the gameplay experience with the same quality we've come to expect prior without sacrificing anything.

8 通の返信I respect you! Here I am thinking I'm an "over-the-hill" gamer at 34. This is good motivation.

2 通の返信Hey, good to see another senior female player (I’ve got a few years on you)! Seems, though, the gist of what you’re saying is Destiny is currently … “crappy”? And “under continual criticism” such that the end of Destiny is nigh! Well, I’ll grant there’s tons of harsh criticism, especially on this forum right here (less so on Reddit, seems to me). Seems more related to PVP whining? I’m of the opinion that competitive PVP tends to appeal more to a younger crowd = less mature so maybe part of the reason? Like trying to herd cats! When I heard Bungie’s new game, Marathon, would be some kind of PVP exclusive, that sounded like the true end of Destiny. At least for me. But my eyes have gotten so bad I probably don’t have many years left gaming anyway. It’s been fun and engaging though so appreciate Bungie’s efforts 💕

1 返信I’m only 40 and I started with Atari 2600, and river raid was one of my favorites! I still am not a greatly skilled player, but I am a loyal one.

1 返信Omg...River Raid!! I played that neverending game for hours and hours!! My favorite gave in Atari! I've asked several other gamers if they ever played it, or even heard of it, many never played it. The grafix were quite nice for the day I remember...lol wow, that's been a minute since I played it...I'm 50, so 40+ years ago? Lol
