Trials Is Not Fair, It Is Unbalanced
I’m not trying to sound entitled. Full disclosure, I’m only recently “getting into” PvP (past month or so) as the grind elsewhere is getting stale. I’m having fun with the build crafting and learning how to play different compared to PvE.
I see the gear and guns in Trials, and it intrigues me enough to give it a try. So, why do I get paired against sweats with ximmer on PC when I’m on console and not ranked at all? SBMM? I get one/two shots to the dome from a pulse rifle and I’m down at full health/shields. I run solo and get pair against teams of multi-flawless experts.
There’s no balance. I know most will say “git good”. That’s true, and I am improving in some areas, but I also don’t have time to improve in a match when our team is wiped immediately. Most matches I get into are 5-0, 5-1 losses.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to pair up the streaming career sweats with each other and those with a similar low-end skill set in matches? The guys in my clan that play 95% of D2 in competitive matches (Comp., Trials, Banner, etc.) even rant about how bad it is. How unbalanced it is. I went flawless once only because I was hanging out with a buddy that offered to help me get there. It’s rough, man, and I want to have fun with it, but it can be very demoralizing.

Remember, the purpose of Trials is to [u]reward skill[/u]. The easier games you get = the worse rewards you get. That's the only way SBMM would work. EDIT: By "easier" games, I mean [u]absolutely[/u] easier, like being in a lower Skill bracket. With SBMM active, everyone would play opponents of the same [u]relative[/u] difficulty.

3 通の返信I would build up or KD stats off trials or carefully when if u do Trials.,that way when lfg, you will get players inviting you when they stat check you. There are many judgemental -blam!- so they dont waste time .its how it is

1 返信It feels different depending on your card/what pool you are in…wg if you have a flawed card, it get easier. Tbh the adept is OVERRATED for how hard it is for most people to get it. Now, if you are just getting into pvp in last month…trials is going to be impossible for you to have fun in. It will take a solid effort to learn each map, then the meta playstyle for that map/trials game mode. Like maybe if you sweated your -blam!- off each weekend, you would get the hang of that map after it had been around for 3 weeks. The play style the week seems to be different than I expected…not every single engagement is devolving around the point…but on this map make sure you control the middle of the map and the inside of that bridge where the point sometimes spawns

You may love comp then, as it puts you in matches with people closer to your skill level. The only obj in Trials is to get a string of 7 wins and go flawless, so matching with people purely in your skill level would suck even worse than the current iteration. As someone that went from 1 flawless all in D1 to being able to go flawless multiple times a weekend I know the pain lol, but it gets better the more you get used to it. Good luck<3

One reason is every time they make a new Sandbox change to PVP it's worse than the last one people keep leaving the population is getting smaller and smaller that's why so unbalanced not enough people to play against, this update feels like vanilla D2 all over again😑

Trials isn't supposed to be fair. There is no SBMM on purpose. It's an endgame mode. If you're looking for a more SBMM/"balanced" approach, Comp is what you're looking for, although there will be any number of complaints to go with that as well, I'm sure.

I just get Passage of Wealth, get increased gains so I can get out quicker, get engrams from level up. Who cares about the rest? I have zero intention of trying to improve in Trials because its not worth the dedication, and it will never change. I'm not getting paid, I'm not bettering anything in my life with it. Its not even remotely fun. Its useless beyond just getting sh*t. So that's where I focus. Screw the rest. Victories will always come, given time, and stuff will follow. This mode will always be a miserable failure. Nobody can contact or converse with me beyond friends, so it makes things alot easier not dealing with idiots beyond the matches themselves.

8 通の返信It's meant to be unfair. If it was actually for elites, they would be playing together and against each other. But then, almost nobody would actually go flawless. This is why Trials should be burned to the ground. They can make something else.

2 通の返信It wouldn't make sense to have sbmm like you propose because you are playing for the same rewards. If say, your version of flawless were to get just an ascendant shard and the "sweat" version of flawless an adept weapon + a chance at cosmetics sure. But seriously, it's end game pvp. This argument reads like someone that just started playing the game hops into a master raid and is surprised once he gets destroyed.

Went in to try for the summoner, all I was matched against was people with adept summoners. I play for fun but am up for challenges. It was not challenging or fun. Nerf aim bots please. Left trials to try 6v6, a guy on warlock spammed his super the entire game. Nova bombed my entire team the whole game. I realized I was watching the final shape. Fitting for the people running this company. The final shape is cheating nonstop,

Naturally, some players are better than others and have an initial advantage, but in the good old days, you could stick at it, improve, and eventually "git good", or at least "gooder". But it's been messed around with for so long now, no matter how hard a player tries to improve, he/she hasn't a chance in hell. Changes were made to improve matchmaking, connection, anti cheat, but whatever changes were,made, some sections of the community were not happy, so the changes were dropped to keep the peace. So, we all have to put up with this poor excuse for an end game PvP mode which is dominated by cheats, carriers, streamers, and of course the small percentage of the genuine top players. I'm sure everyone has seen Youtube videos of how to get, and why we should all go after The Summoner auto rifle recently. I'm sure this is an underhanded attempt to lure more average players to play trials, to bump up the numbers of cannon fodder, so the privileged few have a better chance to farm the god rolls. In addition to this, cross play has greatly exacebated the problems, and you are forced to turn it on in order to participate.

2 通の返信Same problem, I checked streamers games for example, they playing against 0.5-1.5kd enemies 90% matches. Bro I'm 2.3 kd player, BUT if solo queue its 0.3kd teammates - enemies about 2kd, and yea 90% matches finished 0-5. I have a friend who lives nearby but his matchmaking is bot lobbies, he playing against 0.3 kd players and his teammates also about 2kd. For me, I cant enjoy the pvp right know, its unfair lobbies are simply not balanced, it's full random

37 通の返信People that say "get good" almost always fail to consider that you don't learn anything from getting stomped 20 matches in a row. You'll "get good" faster when matches are actually close because you have a chance to learn skills and practice aim in live combat. Also. A playlist that relies on fodder is an unhealthy playlist. The fodder will leave and the playlist being just the sweatiest players will stop players from trying it. Then it'll be a low population of just sweaty players.
