If you still can't get an adept with the easiest trials card they have added I think it does boil down to a skill issue. Just play control more until you have a squad to 3 man trials. Farm for god role pvp weapons from nightfalls. You can't expect to get rewarded just for playing.

Not adepts. The weapons in general. The problem is that even if you are ok at PvP, the chances of getting a weapon roll that you want is abysmal because of how infrequently they drop. Those weapons are reasonably accessible for like the top 10% of PvP players. They’re literally not worth chasing if you’re in the other 90% because you’re more likely to get an endgame exotic than they roll you want on a Trials weapon if you’re in that 90%. It’s just bad reward design. The less accessible a mode’s basic/general loot is to players, the less successful the mode will be. The less it will be generally liked by the player base as a whole. The less it will be played. I’m not good. I stopped playing it because it wasn’t nowhere near rewarding enough for the time investment. Even with this new persistence passage(which doesn’t work right), it’s still not worth it because I don’t even care about adepts. I just want the roll I want on a regular version. I’m trying anyway but this will be the last weekend I attempt Trials again unless something changes. It’s just not enjoyable to dedicate large amounts of time and effort into something and not walk away with a single desired reward. Like I said, it’s just bad reward design.

looking at it from OP's perspective is alot of lesser players put more work in to just get 7 wins them some do going to the light house 10 times. Bungie could easily just make all trials and crucible gear confined to those activities.

I thought this system would be the fairest: 7 wins 0 losses trip to light house 100% adept weapon plus unique armour shader ghost ship 7 wins 1 loss 75% chance of an adept weapon 7 wins 2 losses 50% chance of an adept weapon 7 wins 3+ losses 25% chance of an adept weapon It still rewards something but require some skill for greater rewards

Yeah but then you kill the streamers, whose main business revolves around carries. You also get rid of the need of many to cheat. You will get rid of many off stream carry services, who have several accounts and artificially inflate the player population. You also… hold on. Hmmm. Nah, bad idea. /s

Wrong, only way to fix Trails is to stop the cheating and since that won’t happen it’ll probably never be fixed.

The way persistence currently works is probably as far as I’d go with making it easier for players without agreeing with the people saying adepts are just being given away now. Trials is a game mode about rewarding achievement. I’d consider winning 7 games in a row an achievement. I’d consider winning potential dozens of games to finally string together enough wins in a row an achievement(of persistence, hence the name) I would not consider winning 7 random games against bot walkers sandwiches between a bunch of losses an achievement Sorry, but are basically the only trophy in trials. I’m happy they were made more accessible, but definitely not [i]that[/i] accessible

Don't think that'll help. Adepts in Trials is like Adepts in other aspects of the game, they're in master tier content, which means the par to subpar players will find it difficult to attain them without a really good team. 7 wins without punishment for losses would be counter productive and no one would find any motivation to go to the lighthouse. Trials has gone from "Only the Sweats and Cheaters will make it to the Lighthouse", to "If you have a good team, even a bad player can get carried to the Lighthouse and look like a demigod" to now "Have pulse? Can win"
