Tripled the engram requirement but seen to have forgotten the 'increased drop rates' that were supposed to accompany the change...

Scourged Oneにより編集済み: 12/18/2023 6:54:47 PMI'm missing the Exile Warlock Bond to have the full Trials sets on all 3 characters. I could buy one... for 3 Trials engrams. But I'm not gonna because I'd rather use one of the 3 I have for another Adept Trace rifle, and then hope the next two drop good Stat armor.

It’s really bad. In my experience the post match drop rates are about 10% for strikes, and 10-20% in gambit and Crucible depending on if you win. These current costs are even worse for newer players than what we previously had. As a fairly frequent player, I only really need to focus 2-3 weapons (including the new ones that only cost 1 engram) because I already have good rolls of the others. New players will need to grind for obscene amounts of time in the playlists just to catch up. It’s sad when Trials is the most rewarding system we have for the major playlists. My suggestions for playlists: - Increase engram drop rate to about 40% in Strikes and 30-50% in PvP/Gambit based on wins - reduce focusing costs for all non-legacy weapons to 1 - reduce focusing costs for all legacy weapons to 2. My suggestions for nightfalls: - Reduce current weapon focusing costs to 2 - Reduce legacy focusing costs to 5 to start and 3 if you have already acquired the weapon. My suggestions for gunsmith: - Reduce cost to 2 engrams

3 通の返信It costs 25 spirit to focus a Dawning weapon , it takes hours to get 25 spirit It takes event currency to bake cookies, and it takes event currency to focus, so it's going to be slim pickings this Dawning

Ogma: Destroyer of Worldsにより編集済み: 12/18/2023 3:15:19 PMThey’ve clearly gone with the addiction route in their attempt at player retention instead of the rewarding route. It’s just sad that it’s come to this. I can’t believe they think that being stingy is a better option than being rewarding. Especially now considering the sentiment towards the game and studio. Why they’ve opted to shoot thrnsleves in the foot is beyond me. I know it’s a stupid meme at this point but sometimes it really does feel like they are trying to kill their own game.

TheShadowにより編集済み: 12/18/2023 5:57:48 PMKnowing what business this is, it's expected. So instead of looking for ways to design engaging content, they look for the dumbest ideas in gaming to keep you guys wasting your time going nowhere, and with the absurd amount of duplicates with a rigged system that is designed to drop duplicates more often than not? I'm sure you guys are having an awesome time wasting your time 😂🤦♂️

1 返信this is exactly what I came here to complain about, I just grinded out gambit for 2 hours, had 9 engrams. I was thinking, awesome, I can focus 9 of those linears and hopefully get the roll I want. So I went and it's 3 engrams per focus. So I focused 3, got trash rolls, and I thought well, my motivation to play this game is now completely gone. So I exited the game and I'm gonna play something else. Just another example of Bungie disrespecting our time. It's been awhile since I thought to myself, I should just delete all my characters and put myself out of my misery forever, but I had that though after this debacle.

Kennyにより編集済み: 12/18/2023 11:04:19 AMIt looks like they asked ChatGPT how to increase player engagement "well, make the players work harder for the loot, that works for raids, right?" . Bungie : "Alright then, lets triple the cost of focusing".

cerealkellerにより編集済み: 12/17/2023 1:53:13 PMHere’s what gets me, and this contrast couldn’t be any more lob sided. They give us the Coil this season, an activity that rewards you so well, and it is so satisfying to play because of that. Then, they TRIPLE focusing costs for all the playlists. I have 18K+ legendary shards, focusing costs was not a concern for me. If I wanted something specific, even if I don’t have enough materials, I can focus my efforts into grinding materials for that specific currency. At least then I had a 3x better chance to get the thing I’m after. I hope whoever had this big brained idea was one of the people who got fired, and if not, hey, Bungie! I nominate the person responsible for this as your next employee up for termination. Hopefully whoever takes their place has some common sense. They talk about apathy being the thing that will kill your live service game. Putting rewards so far out of reach, trying to earn them becomes an exercise in futility. That will cast a blanket of apathy across the entire player base. And what’s worse? This season will last almost 7 months. This one thing, combined with rampant cheating in PvP, could be the final nail in the coffin for Bungie.

3 通の返信I actually believe focused loot should be rare. It's taken a long time to get some of the garbage loot out of the game, and with a lot of custom weapons coming from crafting, it seems like a reasonable balance. If it were up to me though, I'd have all the RNG gone from the game, but if I say that, someone will come argue why it's good for the gameplay loop, so there's the middle ground.

I haven't really messed with too much focusing stuff. But it seems to be working fine to me. I'm actually glad they put the cap on the number of engrams because if people don't spend them by the time they hit 99 then they probably aren't being organized enough. And if they're like me then the number of engrams would get so high it would make it even more likely you were going to spend a whole afternoon turning them into shards. I'm not really going to miss shards tbh. Some of my lowest points in this game had to do with shards. But the increased engram costs don't have to be seen as a bad thing. Focusing should be more focused but it shouldn't be wasteful looking with weapons just popping out to be broken down or thrown away. It definitely seems like a hard thing to balance value and access with the rewards in this game but they should have some level of value.

From another comment I made:
Remove shards despite no one asking for it Give almost nothing to spend them on nor auto convert them Increase engram costs across the board for core vendors Don't increase drop rates or reputation gains Don't increase chances of additional perks on applicable vendors "We wish to respect our players' time" Right, because RNG aside, having to do a full rank up for each vendor to focus 1 item is definitely respectful of our time. Well at least Breakneck is dirt cheap (for now probably).
At this point, unless you've reset your rank with vendors 1-3 times, it's not worth focusing into specific weapons. As pointed out above though, thankfully, Breakneck is literally only 1 engram. I'd focus that until you get your preferred roll(s), then focus on whatever else. At the very least, they should've made it so we're more likely to get engrams as random drops and doubled our rank up rewards.
