The biggest cry baby in Forbes destiny decided it’s time for another sunsetting. Sunsetting will cause this game to die all over again. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2023/10/09/im-ready-for-blasphemous-post-final-shape-sunsetting-in-destiny-2/amp/

1 返信Tassi is an idiot! The last time Bungie sunset my gear I left (along with a large chunk of the player base). Didn't come back till Bungie caved. This also shows the disconnect Tassi has with the community. Disrespecting the community's time has always been a problem. There's nothing more disrespectful than invalidating gear. Tassi is still an idiot! There has not been one inkling of technical improvement. TYGER ENGINE IS THE PROBLEM. Even if this game went 5 more years I'm not regrinding all that gear.

1 返信I didn’t mind sunsetting of guns with a 4 season horizon. It’s a way in itself to refresh metas without ripping the Sandbox apart or excessive power creep. Having my adept hot head be dps meta for 7-8 seasons in a row is not exactly a great outcome Sunsetting armor on the other hand I didn’t like. I’d rather they take passes once a year of making one stat super strong like they did with resil two years ago which made everyone want to farm new armor vs sunsetting my old armor Most players even casuals are not using 90 percent of the stuff in their vaults and wouldn’t remember much of anything that got sunset. As long as good enough pvp and pve weapons remain in the loot pool each season it would be fine The community has a toxic mental block about this and it’s made the game stale

5 通の返信Paul is a very casual Destiny player despite how many hours he has in the game, so his takes are not always very good. I'm in no way an advocate of sunsetting (I literally quit when they did it in D1 before Taken King), but it would definitely solve problems in the game for both of the developers and the players. With as many good guns as we have in the game, there's no reason for me to grind for something new unless it is substantively different (usually through perks) or better (which leads to power creep). It's not great in the long term. Same is true of armor sets. Once you get a good one, your reason to farm for armor is removed. I did Grasp of Avarice Master like 70+ times and just still use the same Artifice Armor from that. Haven't had a reason to go for new armor in years. I would not advocate for sunsetting whatsoever. In fact, I would be pretty devastated if it happened. But the arguments for it are actually pretty solid.

Reestablishing older loot with origin traits for world pools, wouldn't be too much to ask. Which I mean they've sort of been doing that. Just not in surplus. What I'd like to see more of tho is armor options. A revamp of world vendors would be wonderful. Just full circle of the cast. And allowing those armors to have origin mod slots like seasonal or raid would be cool. And honestly I think Dares of eternity should get a dedicated drop armor with a trait as well. Make the drop as rare as the new ritual armor though.

11 通の返信Honestly everyone who makes feedback based on the chase of loot instead of the game's sandbox shouldn't have a voice on the matter. This isn't WoW, RuneScape, or any kind of variation of those games. There's no trading system to make up for your lack of viable RNG. The "loot chase" argument is made from the perspective of a gambling addict who wants a reason to continue rolling their dice. Asking that Bungie continue to pad out the loot grind which would sacrifice hours to even days of my life in an activity I'd honestly rather not be doing so they can experience a 5 minute dope hit of serotonin from obtaining a rare 5/5 roll is incredibly selfish imo. The whole point of Destiny is to clear the endgame and you need good loot for that. Your build viability should be based on effort and skill not randomness

Sunsetting is literally awful and should not exist at all in Destiny 2. Bungie needs to remove it entirely and make all of the older currently sunset weapons no longer sunset and usable again because it's honestly ridiculous that they sunset them in the first place.

6 通の返信D3. Drop support for last gen consoles. Dedicated servers. Bigger maps with 16-24 players. 12 man raids. More players in patrol areas. Space ship combat. Pvp in some patrol areas, lose loot when you die. Better character creation, allow redo of character.

3 通の返信He’ll write an article about how sunsetting would be terrible for the game next week. He changes his opinion more often than his socks.

1 返信I hated sunsetting in the beginning, but if done correctly, it would improve the game. I haven't and won't read Paul's article because I can form my own opinions, but the game is bloated.

Sunsetting not a bad idea the main problem now that it's way too late to implement it now they should have done that when they started implementing origin traits The first weapon sunsetting was basically pointless because nothing about the weapons actually changed them by forcing us to throw away gd weapons for apparently no reason What should have happened *Origin weapons implement *Legacy weapons unlocked become purchasable from collections for glimmer with random rolls (similar to year1 legacy weapons) *Banshee sell 1 legacy weapon per day to unlock for collections It's way too late to do these changes now the old weapons are slowly fading away anyway
