The removal of legendary shards is a horrible step. Bungie believes they need to remove the wealth disparity and make things affordable for new players while making spending currency "meaningful" for avid players. Their answer was to remove one of the main non-capped components of the economy. IF the cap to Glimmer is removed then we should be fine- but if not and we are constantly having to scrounge for glimmer then.....
-like every system people will find a way to manipulate - typically the avid players (sorry noobs)
-If I play Trials all weekend for a GL I want something more to show for it - other than heartache and too much alcohol
--blam!- cares about the "disparity"? If I am an avid player I SHOULD HAVE MORE RESOURCES! it represents the time and stupidity of playing the game non stop - as a new players they are just trying to figure out who the hell Uldren Sov was...
-Having left over resources allows people to take time away from the grind... "hey I am glad I got to play a crap ton last month - I can use some of those resources for this month when my FRAU wants my undivided attention
-This action doesn't feel like it is done with good faith to help their community, instead another attempt to "equalize" and drive people to play constantly - which goes against their "keep your mind and body healthy - take a break".
- really they should have embraced it... - like have a leader board on who has the most shards- like Toyota showing of when one of their trucks has a gazillion miles on it.

When you max out on Ascendant Shards, your additional Ascedent Shard goes nowhere, AND, you will have times where you go from max to running out as that is such a small margin, forcing you to grind it back to max, and again, no longer earning them. It is very common to need all of them, there is times you get several new exotics to Masterwork and sometimes you'll even run out and still need more for Masterworking, which causes you to go out and grind more Nightfalls in hopes you get some, though inconsistently. You also are being screwed because if you are max and you want to stop them from disappearing, you upgrade a Exotic for 3, break it down for 1, then down the road you're going to have to play more to recover those 2 you lost. The point of keeping low caps, is to keep artificial gameplay. Think about it this way, if you never give a poor man a decent ability to actually make money, he will stay poor. If you cap the max he can earn, you give yourself insurance he will have to work more if he needs more. It is the only reason for this, otherwise caps would have been removed years ago and not just increased by the smallest possible amount to shut us up for a while. This isn't a good thing for us, obviously cause it's ridiculous and unfair. But it also isn't good for Bungie because things like deceptive business tactics simply to artifically boost time spent logged in, adds the iceberg that eventually tips, and you find a new game to play.

11 通の返信We've had caps on all the games currencies since the release of Destiny 1. The game has not died due to it. You can disagree with depricating legendary shards. There's a few decent arguments for being against it. This isn't one.

I think it's a frustrating change only meant to change player engagement I mean playtime. They think it will give you a reason to do something like public events... to earn glimmer or the currency they are replacing shards with. They've changed currencies over and over, and never really makes the game better. When they add strange coins back in, I'll bet it's just to try and get more people to run Nightfalls. With Bungie not playing the game or talking with someone that plays the game they have no idea what a reasonable cap is, once set they are stuck with it for 6 months or longer before they think about adjusting it. It sucks when you are working on builds and run out of glimmer... It's not like you are going to go grind for glimmer. Same sort of deal. Also, they should always tell you the cap before you hit it. lt should say 1/99 engrams at each venter. 1/5 keys, etc... The main problem with caps is they don't consider if you play multiple characters. For instance, the season keys are capped at 5, which is fine if you play one character, but if you play 3 that's 1.6 for each character, which is pretty lame. I just want to play the game and be able to do what I want to do. I'm not gonna go out and grind keys or glimmer if they are not there when I want them. This is a lot like sunsetting where some people are for or against it and it could make the game pretty shitty for long-time players or it may not matter. It all depends on how it's done. Generally, I think the caps have been extremely low and don't get the considerations they should. What's next? cores, bright dust?
