Extremely lame seasonal story ending
Soooooo what you're telling me is that a normal-sized human being in a hive halloween costume was the most powerful hive in the universe? To me, she looked one sniper headshot away from completely leaving this universe.
You're also telling me that we just resurrected one of the most intriguing and fan-favorite characters, just for her to say one line of dialogue, get Will Smith'd, and then run off?
ANDDDDD you're also telling me the grand finale of this season is Eris filing a restraining order against Xivu Arath, who is supposedly the 2nd biggest baddie in this universe (capable of destroying us all), and that's it? No fight? No war?
Not a single narrative plot point since Lightfall has been intriguing or satisfying. Not looking good for Final Shape.

2 通の返信What does size have to do with it? The Destiny universe is similar to a comic book universe. Oversized villains have been defeated by human sized heroes for the entire Destiny timeline. Hell, how many times did you have to headshot Randal the Vandel with a sniper? Or do you even know about Randal? Anyway, she locked Xivu out of her throne world with hive magic. Size has nothing to do with hive magic. Cinematics are problematic for storytelling for exactly this reason. Clowns look at the cartoon and get all butthurt.

Yeah, they should’ve shown Savathun getting resurrected again and handing Immaru to Ikora. Would’ve made for a really cool scene, Immaru showing his true colors or just hiding under a veil of indifference. Savathun showing how she treats Immaru. I didn’t mind Eris’s thing. Thought it could’ve used some extra oomph, but it was fine. I thought her using the useless Moon sword to kill Savathun was a nice detail. Mission was ok, but nothing crazy. Hopefully the season cap-off will be good.

13 通の返信Final shape is gonna be awesome. Ever see a tv series called Dallas in the eighties? Patrick Duffy’s character Bobby Ewing wakes up in a running shower and the events of the previous season were all a dream. The previous season was crap so they reset the timeline. Now put Zavala waking up in shower at the end of final shape! And D2 story was all a dream and we are now back in the old tower in D1😜

Not looking good for Final Shape.[/quote] Bungies way to not have to make a throne world and more likely a raid. Just gonna reduce her to a story/nightfall strike. Just like nokris. Honestly it’s been a min since I’ve been this disappointed in the story. Even lightfall I went into it knowing it was a filler expansion and didn’t expect much of anything. But xivu arath has been the bad guy in the distance for years, and to be reduced to this, just sad. I’m not invested in the witness. Think it’s bad writing that the whole “light vs. darkness” can be summed up to “a literal god, capable of creating life and terraforming entire solar systems, granting near immortality vs. a dissatisfied customer, who was never a god and dragon ball z fused with their race to be the ultimate Karen that happens to resemble mega mind” like when u sit down and think about it, it’s just silly.

4 通の返信The cutting off Xivu from her throne world is actually cool and ok. The problem is, they told us rather than showed us then explained for those that didn't really catch on (because there's always some people that do need to be told even after being shown). I agree the way they handled Savathun was pretty lame and while we had a lot of Immaru, at the same time we really didn't. He was there, but not really. Why wasn't he flying around in the Oubiliette or anything during the season and especially the final mission? Also yea, kinda disappointed Eris didn't go through a larger transformation after such a great start to the season. The fact we also didn't actually get to hear what Savathun told Ikora? Like come on. We're literally one season away from Final Shape now. But still, I am at least satisfied with the general point of ending the season with a legitamtely and tangebily weaker and very obviously pissed off Xivu Arath. Execution could've been faaaar better though. Concept of seasonal story overall: 9/10, probably one of the best Execution: 5/10, not the worst and had its moments but also very obvious laziness to not capitalize on what easily could've been one of if not the best seasons for D2

1 返信Once I checked out the lore card and other stuff that makes it more clear what actually happened I though the story itself was cool. The issue in my eyes was the presentation. The citscene didn't make a lot of sense in the moment, and what is arguably one of the most important story developments (savathun is alive and back in the world doing...savathun things) was not part of the cutscene.

Hoo boy we were so happy about all of that money you gave us for some reason, that we decided to completely phone in the entire year because everyone with actual talent is working on a completely different game! Wahoo thanks for being so gullible and desperate to stand out! It's definitely not embarrassing to be showing off that exclusive emote to everyone you can like it means you're cool or something. Thank god for the princesses and rat people still playing the exact same game for 10 years, complete with content we promised would stay gone and never have to repay again!
