Well of Radiance is pointless now. In Altars of Summoning, I got killed by a single Ogre inside the well because the damage of his void beam was higher than the well Health regen.
Wellock has been my main super, but now I'm Gonna give Daybreak a try or just give up solar class.

Everytime I attempted that boss, while I was able to survive it's attacks in well, there was the problem of knockback throwing me out of it or at the very least, throwing off my aim so damage was wasted during dps phases. It would have been possible for me to beat him, but that stupid timer just makes it far too difficult with the amount of health comboed with the DR over 90% of his body.

There is no stronger super and it has been a negative influence on the game for years.

Yes it shouldn't make you immortal, but it's the only viable survival option for harder activities. If you get deleted in a well, that makes it not viable of an option, meaning that you are down a super choice. Every subclass should be viable in any situation, but only specific ones. Using bubble is less effective as, unless you have Saint-14's helm, you don't get the overshield it provides and you can't stay in it as you can't shoot out of it. Well was ment to be a dps/support super that people would use for a clutch save or a dps phase and if something just ignores that, what is the point of it.

It’s just the one that lets you stand still and put zero thought into how you’re playing. In the vast majority of scenarios, it is literally impossible to die in a well. There is no build crafting with survivability in well outside of using 100 resil. Well is too strong and is hurting the rest of the game. Luckily bungie is aware of this.
We've had to do this before with things like Divinity and auto-reloading. At some point you're like: 'Hey, this super provides utility that a lot of people like, but we are handcuffing a bunch of our players too. So what's the version of this where we can say: 'Okay, the time for everyone feeling like they have to run this is over'. We know that we have to make some changes before The Final Shape raid.
Things can be strong, while not being so strong to the point that everything else is irrelevant and it feels required. Yeah, when people complain that they feel forced to run well, and they do, that should be a major red flag.

As I pointed out in that post, I haven't seen bubble being used in this way because of the drawbacks it has. Other supers can also be quite risky in harder activities. Dawnblade leaves you far too open as you fly in the air, Chaos reach can be good for DPS, but you would mainly use it for just that, so while you use it, mobs can start focusing on you and take you out of it before you even get most of the super down. Single cast supers like Nova and Strand can be decent, but sometimes the homing goes to targets you don't want so it could be wasted there. Well has been a reliable option and part of the problem is the difficulty growth. When an activity is hard, people ususally go to Well because of that. If the difficulty was better, more supers would be encouraged as you wouldn't need the survivability. It would make activities easier, but it would also make them more accessable to other players as well.

In no way is it a risky super. Chaos reach provides similar dr and is also ranged. It is also not risky. A super isn’t risky just ust because a it doesn’t heal you as you stand still doing nothing. Well is overpowered, which is why it gets used so much. It’s that simple. It requires the least effort for what’s essentially immortality and it applies it to Angeline who stands in it.

I mean the risk of being open to attack as for both of those, you are floating in the air out in the open. If your teammates are behind cover and the enemies spot you, they could all focus you down or even just a single ogre would spot you and delete your healthbar even with the DR. I went back and played D1 and noticed that enemies are ALOT more accurate in D2 then they are in D1. They will miss 1 shot as a warning shot and then every other shot seems to just stick to you.

Just the RoF of some PvE enemies is insane like the lvl 3 altars has 30 enemies at one time firing a barrage of bullets and abilities that is impossible to avoid and once you die you get revived and instantly one tapped again
Yeah, since they removed the overshield. Bungie really does too much when it is not needed 🤦♂️
The overshield was removed since it was a void and stasis ability. It was instead replaced with significantly higher damage resistance, which was a net buff in terms of survivability. It became harder to die in a well.
