Look at From Software with Elden ring (and all the souls games), Larian Studios with Baldurs Gate 3, Concerned Ape with Stardew Valley, Luca Galante with Vampire Survivors, Super Giant with Hades, Capcom with the RE series, Nintendo with the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Santa Monica Studios with God of War (and GoW Ragnarok)…
You know why these are all such critically acclaimed games that saw/are seeing huge success, with large and happy communities? Because they are games that were developed by big, small, or single person studios that all love their work, are passionate about it, and care more about what their fans will think of them and their game, than they do the profit of the game. Obviously profit is a big part of it, but just like with any creative or niche job in life, when you start doing it just for the money, instead of the passion for it, you begin to get sloppy.
You know what all that means? WE ARE TIRED OF MICROTRANSACTIONS. The reason you’re having trouble allocating resources and teams to developing content, is because you allocate all of those resources and your teams to Eververse! You need to get your priorities straight. Destiny 2 is already pretty much done for, so all I can hope is that your future releases take note of these other dev studios’ titles, and aim to replicate their success.
If you’re scared seeing that other studios have raised the standard of a good worthwhile to play game, then good. Maybe you’ll finally wake up.

Edit: The difference in game genre has no bearing on the passion a dev studio can put into their game, and has no bearing on their decision to implement heavy microtransactions. These games are all examples of how passion over microtransactions creates better games with happier communities.
No lie, destiny was a better game when we would just pay for the expansions and literally everything was available for players to earn. Micro transactions is ruining games in general, its not just destiny.
