I’ve said this elsewhere; I love and adore Keith David. But he and Lance have very different styles and cadences. I am interested to see how he approaches the character, but I wonder if Zavala will just feel like a different person. I hope he nails it, because I don’t ever want to think Kieth David wasn’t right for any role he does. This isn’t a role where Keith defined the role and we can’t imagine anyone else doing it. Zavala is already defined with a character and personality we’ve known for 10 years. It may sound weird at first, but will it always feel weird? That’s the question. Can Keith David feel like Zavala when delivering lines?
This is my concern too.
I love Keith David, Anderson in Mass Effect was very much part of gaming for me when ME2 and ME3 came out but I've only ever heard him do that voice.
He’s done a bunch of stuff. I remember him going back to Disney’s Gargoyles in the 1990s where he was the lead, Goliath. He was also the Arbiter in Halo 2 & 3. He was the President in Rick & Morty. He was recently in the first episode of the new season of Justified on FX. He was the voice of Spawn in the 90s animated movies and in Mortal Kombat 11. He’s done a lot of voice work.

The only things I've heard him in have only had him using his own voice, that's not to say it's a bad thing (it's a lovely voice), I'm just not sure he can do Zavala.
