Destiny has made a lot of progress and has built a very solid foundation for the future. A lot of people on here appear to be mad that their personal mmofpsrpg projects just never sold very well.
I'm also having a hard time figuring out what is wrong with the game exactly. Other than pvp which you would think the people complaining the most would be the ones defending it.

You’re trying to find a rational explanation to an emotional argument. They’re just MAD because they got outvoted and the game went in a direction they personally don’t like. But instead of moving on to a game that they do like, they act like a jealous ex who just keep showing up. Trying to get even for being dumped…..

A_moにより編集済み: 8/4/2023 6:52:26 PMDestiny seems to be in a perfectly fine spot in terms of the game itself. The pvp appears to have something for everyone, for the most part. Things will continue to be rearranged and refined but it has come a long way. There's good things about the destiny community but what I'm trying to figure out is whether and how they originate from the same place as taking offense to having a whole other entire pvp game made for you. Is it offensive that they expected people to be able to understand that it would likely be quite wasteful to attempt to make a giant pvp almost equal to the size of pve in this game? Really don't see what the fuss is about tbh.

Again. You are trying to make rational, principled sense out of what are emotional and self-interested arguments. All you’re going to do is give yourself a really bad headache. I agree with your assessment of the game. For what Bungie set out to accomplish, there is nothing wrong that can’t be fixed by better loot and a retuning of the game back towards what it was like last year. Bungie was so focused on making it “challenging” for the elites that they kneecapped the power-fantasy for everyone else. But this collective tantrum is nothing more than people raging over Bungie refusing to make Destiny 2 the game they personally want. Instead of leaving, they feel that Bungie will cave if they just rage loud enough and long enough…. Aint happenin’….

A_moにより編集済み: 8/4/2023 7:08:35 PMExperimenting with and evolving difficulty options probably fell in about as good a place as it could have time wise. The whole game isn't and doesn't have to be difficult but it was a good thing for them to try to understand what difficulty looks like given how much the game has changed. Definitely wouldn't have made sense to do during witch queen and from what I understand a lot of the yikes factor that came with some of the difficulty increases at first was removed fairly quick. Lightfall being the year of difficulty is one of those things that will probably make more sense as time goes on. People being mad over not getting their personal idea of a good game is also confusing simply because you'd think that when they see themselves getting something they want they'd understand why someone else gets what they want to. That's kind of the name of the game and its just one of those things. The difficulty thing is similar to what they started with sbmm last year. With some of this stuff they just aren't going to know what it's going to look like or how they should tune it until they do it.

I’m not arguing with you. I’m just saying you are looking for a level of rationality and principled thought that is simply not there. You are dealing with objections from people who feel their money entitled them to a game that is personalized to their wishes and preferences. It is truly no more complicated than that. Which is why Bungie ignores them. Because there is no hope of any constructive or respectful enhancement. Just adult temper tantrums.

A_moにより編集済み: 8/4/2023 7:25:12 PMI guess I'm practicing for marathon because the level of rationality from some of my pvp superiors ain't gonna cut it if that is going to be ultimate pvp. What are some of them thinking? "Bungie out here creating one of their 'saaaafe spaces' for pvp players."

A_moにより編集済み: 8/4/2023 7:34:30 PMWatch the pvp game become less toxic than this one. That probably won't happen but it's worth a try. It really doesn't have to be that toxic though if such diametrically opposed opinions aren't basically considered a central feature of the experience. The good thing is that can now be less the case for this game too, partially because it was for a time. I'm really having a hard time seeing what's so terrible. You know what's terrible, on purpose? 6v6. They need to stop making it so blatantly obvious that control and clash 6v6 would just be removed if it strangely wasn't for F2P. Somebody likes 6v6 though. There's just so much of it and it all feels weird.

Now that I disagree with you on. Vanilla D2 tried to get rid of 6v6 and replace with 4v4 as the core game mode. It was a disaster. Some of the devs probably don’t like it. Some of the former pvp team leads hated it…but it’s not going anywhere. You think this community is mad now….? Just let them try to get rid of 6v6.. x

A_moにより編集済み: 8/4/2023 7:49:41 PMNo we actually agree. A lot of people do like 6v6 as it's been or has worked over the course of the last year. It should be in the game and it works about as well as it can quite often. But it's for what it's for and it does what it does. I haven't played enough of the relentless playlist to see how long it takes to wear the matchmaking in or if that's even the way it works anymore tbh. It's just that destiny has the focus it has and you'd think the people who benefit from that focus would be owning it and defending it a little more by now. The maps are hard to just completely let go for some people because they supposedly had a ton of time to say "hey maps instead of this or that" but other than that destiny works about as well as it's going to work for who it works for. Of course they've identified areas for improvement but the game made a lot of progress that people should be happy with. And when it comes to the maps it is going to be hard to make maps that encourage the kinds of outcomes this games future pvp playerbase demands.
