Harmonizers should've been implemented differently. I don't mind them being part of the Season Pass so much as I mind them being obtainable ONLY from the SP. If they were obtainable elsewhere in game they wouldn't be as controversial as they currently are.
Xur could offer a weekly quest that awards a Deepsight Harmonizer, akin to the Exotic Cipher quest. Which would be great for players who already have every exotic in the game.
A Deepsight Harmonizer could be at the end of the second rank reset reward track for Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit, Iron Banner, and the current Season Vendor on the Helm. Which would be far more worthwhile than another Ascendant Shard that won't fit in our inventories.
Or Deepsight Harmonizers could be obtained similarly to Synthweave Templates by completing a bounty with a set maximum per season.

That's it. Period. That's the only reason harmonizers exist,... to make buying seasons more attractive....not to help players craft weapons.
Your ideas are great.... IF the goal of harmonizers was to make the player experience better.... But If that WAS the case, if Bungie really wanted to make crafting easier... Why not reduce the number of patterns you need?
