They've always been hiring new people though and a lot of them are people who have pretty long resumes. So it's not like everyone they hire just shows them no qualifications.
There's also the thing where these newer people have added a lot of stuff to the game that is now considered foundational to the game.
Both games are going to get equal attention. It's just like kids, that doesn't necessarily mean they are going to get exactly the same attention.
One game being the priority is probably not even a thing. But there may be times where the needs of one is prioritized. Do you really think they are going to handle the run up to final shape by prioritizing marathon?
No, it's why the reveal was when it was. Next summer we'll get an alpha, then beta, release in the autumn, leaves space for FS build up & release.
All I'll say about FS is it's the same team making it who made lightfall, same 7-8 month build window, same content template so it won't be anything that we haven't already had. This game goes to 2028 & nothing crazy is changing as long as people keep spending.
I posted a leak about 6 months ago that I read from an Xbox guy who was in the know from when MS looked at buying bungie. 2 things happened this week back this up,. It's not a spoiler regarding story etc just a future forecast from someone who would know.
[spoiler] After FS there's a 3;year trilogy story, in this D2 game, no details on things being removed etc just it's in this D2 game. Potential new game aimed at the new console release around late 2027, potential being the keyword, no future decision after the trilogy had been made yet.. This news was 12- 15 months old from its source
Last week bungie sent out surveys asking people if they'd come back for a new destiny game, you do this before you start building it. Marathon releases late 2024, freeing up Devs to start work on what's next for destiny.
Yesterday Phil Spencer revealed new Xbox & ps consoles will launch in 2028
