Hitting a single key every few seconds isn’t “being active”. You need to be moving around (not just via camera angle) every do often & going into your menus.

I’m aware of what counts as active to them, that’s where my complaint is. The activity itself and the most efficient way to do it (due to public events removing focused fishing) is to literally stand in one place and use the 1 interact button. I’m still playing the game, they still get my play time, but I get punished for doing it effectively.

I don’t think the macro argument is viable here honestly, the “perfect catch” timing is random, and even if it wasn’t I can just make the macro go through my inventory very quickly. As for not picking up the fish I understand that it is a very minor thing and can lead to the error code, but that brings up the point of why are the fish not going into your tackle box automatically? What is the point of needing to manually pick them up?
-
Yeah, anyone savvy enough to farm with a macro is smart enough to not get kicked for inactivity. That argument is hilariously flawed. They should just have the "are you still there?" prompt come up BEFORE it kicks you to orbit, and make you press some "I'm not a robot" buttons or something.
-
Exactly man both other people responding to this used the macro argument and if I can make a macro i can just make it go through my inventory. I would much rather your suggestion with a prompt or “I’m not a robot” button rather than getting kicked straight to orbit.
-
So because I didn’t pick up my fish that I earned I don’t deserve them? What I’m saying is that I’m fishing spaces the kicked for inactivity should be adjusted for players hitting 1 button, since that is what it calls for. How is a button not enough? I am still here at my desk and they are still getting my play time, I am not hogging the public space because I am participating in the fishing so I am not negatively affecting other players. It doesn’t add up.
-
Because a macro can literally do what you were doing. Correct….with some things in the game, if you don’t pick them up then you don’t get them. This goes for your fish. You should be periodically picking them up if you don’t want to lose them for the variety of reasons they can be lost.
-
Macro argument is terrible here… timing is random and even if it wasn’t I could always make the macro speed open and go through my menu to bypass this. I should not be punished purposefully for doing the activity the way the design of it affected the most effective way of it.
-
Nope. The activity is designed so that you take 5 seconds every few minutes to pick up your fish. Otherwise, we would simply have them go to our inventory once caught. Now you know what you need to do. So no need to keep arguing with me about what you should’ve been doing all along. So I’m out. No need to respond.
