Several times and to multiple members of my fire team this happened. If you die in the final boss room it will spawn you all the way to the beginning of the previous room and when you try to make your way back to the final boss room it will say that you've gone too far and then kill you. I don't know if this is specific to master or not but I didn't see it happening on normal at all.
