I wouldn't call this a big hit.
It also isn't that well made. Boring qt mechanic and the fact that the fish doesn't go into your inventory right away. You are completely frozen when fishing and you just have to press one button to catch a fish.
This is the most basic fishing mechanics. I am not expecting much and seeing how it is just a seasonal thing, it is serviceable. Public event however should not prevent you from fishing.
I wouldn't call it a big hit because of a lot of people doing it, it is a new feature and is a quest step.

Neverwinter has a far superior fishing game with a timer, multiple button prompts to react to as you reel it in, difficulty scaling to tier of fish on the line (which you can see), different bait/rigs… and you don’t have to pick the fish up off the ground. That game has around for years; not only did Bungie add a very tired and overdone activity, they did a very uninspired version. Also the public event cancellation of a fishing spot is just annoying.

Community seems to think its the best addition of the season lol but I see your point it is basic in mechanics and yeah fish not going straight in is weird. But overall its a nice passive thing that actually rewards you for your time. I still think its a big hit despite its first time flaws and the public event stuff is so annoying I hope they can flip a switch or something to make that better.

Personally, I don't mind the public events. You can wreck them in less than 2 min easy. Fishing is a nice break from all the shooting, and when I need a break from fishing, well, that's where the public events come in🤣🤣

So? It's not that hard to get back. Every time I go fishing, there are loads of guardians. It's just a nice little thing to do on the side to chill out. Instead of looking for the negatives of this little activity, look for the positive and just enjoy it 😊

Having maxed out focus increases your chances of getting an exotic fish, which is needed for some triumphs. Plus it is part of this activity, and reaching it is annoying as is already. It takes for ever and most of the time, a public event will start and remove all of your stacks. It also takes a long time before the fishing pond appears again. There are very few positives with this activity, especially due to how they made it.

I had maxed focus loads of times and didn't get a single exotic fish yet while my mates got exotic fishes without having full focus. So this tells me focus isn't a requirement to get exotic fish. It's random. But it seems to me that no matter what someone says, you're just gonna keep whining and moaning cause you're just a negative Nancy.

You didn't point out any facts what so ever. Pointing out flaws is not you being negative. The fact is, you are lying to yourself to try and enjoy things and you have done it for so long that you now starts to lie to others.

See, there you go all negative again. The fact is that my mates have caught exotic fish without full focus. I was there. The fact is that getting full focus is not hard to get when you stand there with others fishing. The fact is that the activity is easy as can be. Seeing how you react, I'll take back that you're a negative Nancy, you're more like a toddler that throws a tantrum and throws his toys out the pram. Then, to top it off cause you are clueless about how to do a simple activity like this, you tell someone that has done it a lot that that person is telling lies about what his experience is and what that person has seen. You are by far out the most pathetic crying toddler I have met here. If fishing in destiny is even too hard for you, I suggest you go play Farm ville or something 🤣🤣🤣

I'm not a troll, I replied to your thread respectable, and all you have been is negative and telling me that I lie. If you actually would take the time with fishing as you do with your crying and moaning, you would actually be able to get the full focus as well. And I stand with what I said. You get on like a toddler who doesn't get his way🤣🤣🤣

Also it being classed as the best thing of the season, doesn't really mean anything. Something has to be the best, that is just how it works in rankings/ comparisons. Don't get me wrong i don't hate the fishing activity and i do like that you don't need bait in order to fish. I just wish that it was done better. Simple fixes, Make the fish go straight into your inventory and stop Public events from disabling fishing.
