Well more specifically it’s made other competing game studios try to compete with the same delivery cadence and failed at the feedback loop/endgame process. (All the destiny killer games that never did)
So I think it’s more that the disruptive innovation captured by bungie has caused the gaming industry to re-evaluate how they produce content.
With that said studios need to decide what their game is and more importantly what their game isn’t. They can capture audience for brand loyalty/retention more this way.
Look at elden ring, it’s not meant to be supported post launch, it’s a one and done game, and it did amazingly well.
