The new seasonal trailer is set to release 2 hours before the new season. What’s the point?
They’re meant to build hype, which they do, props to whoever it is that makes the trailers. They’re almost always fire.
The trailer should be dropped a week before or in the TWAB to give everyone a reason to get excited, which it this point I feel the game needs. Don’t drop it 2 hours before the new season because at that point who cares?

4 通の返信Morakxにより編集済み: 5/22/2023 5:00:51 PMThey stopped releasing "hype" trailers when they decided to not give us quality, new and fun content for our hard earned money. Theres nothing to get hyped about thats why we see no trailers in advance anymore. Who tf is gonna be hyped to see some reissued guns, locations and missions that we already paid for in the past being pulled out of their scammer DCV? Thats the entire reason we see no cool trailers weeks in advance anymore. They know how people will react to their reissue fiesta. And they sell it to us as "we don't wanna spoil you, we wanna keep the "content" secret. LOL yea right, you don't wanna spoil your old reissued guns being brought back. Ty for nothing.

1 返信This usually means it's gonna be another empty season claiming 'sandbox change' as main selling point, if it's any good we'd get tons of official leaks by now

7 通の返信We will get 2 Missions to do tomorrow and then the " Oh the Vanguard needs more time to investigate, they will contact you in a week" bull sht.... Then back to the 3 or 4 more missions in the 4 weeks... Just to go silent for 5 weeks and then release a finale mission out of the blue. Can't wait. Titan will be reduced to small pockets of activity like Neptune is now .. Neptune is empty. We won't have water fights. The dungeon will be a slog to go thru IMO.

I’m no marketing expert but this strategy hasn’t worked on me once. I was holding off on getting this season but since there has been no hype I’ve already lost interested and I’m currently invested in a different game/other hobbies. Now that’s it’s released I just can’t hype myself up enough to go out of my way to get back into destiny again. Something similar happened in season of the haunted and seraph; the seasons seemed genuinely interesting when I got to see it but because I had no hype for destiny and was playing other games at the time, I didn’t really care to play. Surely this can’t be the desired outcome right? I don’t know if any other games that present their DLCs in this manner.

Exactly. I still occasionally watch the very first trailer with Led Zeppelin soundtrack. Its what got me into the game. Now the trailers feel like promos for fast food complete with cheap toys in the box made in China with a choking hazard warning.

10 通の返信This entire year of dlc is filler and NOT just the expansion like Bungie claims. I'll grind out some new guns and complete the seasonal campaign bs once a week. That's about all it's going to be. By week five or six the seasonal story will wrap up and then it will be a month and a half of jack -blam!- all from Bungie. Just flat out lazy milk the cow development expected from a now trash studio. Everscam though will be there week in and week out with baubles to part you from your money though believe that.

1 返信Nothing but the same old strikes, activities, weapons, a few new armor to chase, same old worlds with new robotic quest to do.

4 通の返信If they released it say a week ago, no one would buy it. They are relying on people buying it blind.

5 通の返信Why does it matter? Honest Q. Is your abstention dependent on the trailer? Does it take a week to make a $10 decision? Or were you gonna buy it anyway? Are you a "content creator" that dissects every frame for speculation and clicks? I'm just trying to understand the perspective

2 通の返信it's funny how many times i've seen people accuse Bungie of overhyping stuff. Now not overhyping is the problem?

1 返信This is the same as embargoes in cinema, if the embargo doesn't lift until the day the movie comes out, it's usually bad. I'm not going to buy the season anyways, unless by some miracle it's actually good ... but their last several seasons have made me think that the Witch Queen was a glitch in the Matrix.

1 返信Everybody mad about the trailer but I’m betting we actually gonna be seeing underwater gameplay that’s all well underwater and sluggish. I already bought the silver so I’m locked in swim trunks on.

16 通の返信No matter what they do, they cannot hype underdelivery. 🤣 Absolutely nothing here but a shamble mess of shallowness!🤣

Two hours before release is 3-4am for me, by the time I even realise there is a trailer out I've already started playing. Not just for my situation but for general effectiveness of a trailer as advertising, it should be viewable a minimum of 24-48 hours before the new season releases.
