If it is going to take 2 or 3 melees before I finally connect with the enemy I'm trying to kill with my melee, the last thing you should do is give a cool down in between attempts.
Fix the whiffing and this won't be a problem... I cannot help but to see it being an issue.

They don't care bud shoulder charge was never even used as a melee tool just a movement tool and if they are going to take this away skating should go as well I could only complete some jump puzzles because of the shoulder charge now we have strand so I guess they just taking movement away so we have to use strand I think this change is happening because hunter's claim they are the slowest characters in the game rocking 100 mobility which is false. The fact is bungie makes the warlock and hunter have themes for their subclasses and the titan just punches -blam!- shows you where their focus is and it's never been on titans

6 通の返信First of all stop aiming at the fkin floor when you melee. No wonder you think the melee is jank. Never once have I had a melee mess up the way you THINK those did. Aim at the thing you are trying to hit and also if you had aimed at those shanks + not tried to hit them from a half mile away you’d have gotten the kills. There’s a great many things bungie needs to fix in this game. That video is a terrible terrible example of it though. Your issue is that you seem to think that firing a melee in the general vicinity of an enemy is going to get you the kill.

8 通の返信I watched the video, and it’s true there are some genuine whiffs in there, but there’s also a lot of times you aren’t aiming at the enemy, you are looking down, or you just try it from way to far. Yes, there is a problem, but there are things you can do like aim at the enemy to fix it sometimes

5 通の返信Funny how when you stopped looking at the ground the melee actually hit, also wasn't good on shanks because they are literally flying, of you jump first for flying enemies that helps a lot

10 通の返信Going by that video, this is a you problem. 90% of those "whiffs" you were either activating from too far away, or just straight up aiming at the floor. Try to actually aim [i]at[/i] your target, not at the floor, and you might find it a bit more consistent.

This is why melee lunge is being removed, normalized, or nerf'd. Because Bungie finally realized if they are not willing to invest in additional infrastructure then abilitys that cause great inconsistency in a p2p system need to be removed.

32 通の返信I honestly don’t even understand the decision to nerf this. I didn’t even think shoulder charge was a big problem in crucible. I mean I see it occasionally but I also see invisible off the radar hunters galore, and warlock dumping healing rifts every 25 steps they take. I mean if your going to nerf things for the sake of crucible at least make some new content for it

I have dozens of clips of Knockout and Synthoceps-buffed melees still whiffing entirely, and now my [i]NON-RANGED[/i] charged melee will be wasted thanks to something that isn't my fault.

Melee whiffs in destiny are a constant problem, the moment something isn’t on the exact same level as you whiffs are probably occurring I would say at least 30% of the time in crucible, especially if someone is moving away from you in an upward trajectory, this problem isn’t exclusive to shoulder charge.

They can't fix melee wiff. It's because of how their netcode works. To fix it they would need to redo the netcode from the ground up and likely get dedicated servers instead of the current BS they do. It's expensive for a dying game.
