Don’t agree on commendations being required to rank up. Lots of players don’t like Crucible or Gambit and find Nightfalls too time consuming. Now solo pve players have a hard time increasing their rank no matter how much they play. Bungle happily takes their money and then does this. I’m rank 7 and getting to 8 will be too much work and no fun. I say this with well over 5,000 hours in the game.

Tying it to rank is just kind of insulting and doesn’t show the investment I’ve already made into this game for years.

Well apparently now that they moved the achievement that unlocks your last 4 loadout slots to guatdian rank 8 its a new grind to do to get your loadout slots unlocked. At a 460 score requirement that's looking like at least 230 matched activities. pretty much never see anyone get more than two, getting 1 is common though so my estimate is probably pretty low. Got myself to 1800 last night and still only at like 300 commendation score. It's gonna be a long grind Hopefully that part doesn't reset each season like the rank itself

Commendations as a concept are fine, as part of a ranking up process, terrible. You are hoping that other players remember/are able/can be bothered to award them. No slight to others, the system for awarding them is clunky. The number of times I’ve been in an activity where one or more players leave without awarding any commendations is growing. To hit 460, even getting 2 per activity on average requires 230 play throughs of Gambit/Vanguard/Crucible and that is just to go from rank 6 to rank 7. Who wants to do that every season as this resets every new season?
-
There is none. The concept was ok at best. But tying it to any sort of progression just kills anything they’re trying to accomplish. That and the fact there’s no way to negatively impact it is pointless. I would love to be able to see if someone is prone to going afk, trolling, or quitting early

Rexxにより編集済み: 3/25/2023 3:17:33 PMWhat's weird to me is that there are so many things in the game bungie could work on that are true QOL improvements that players have been begging for for years. Yet they spend who knows how much time developing and implementing a commendation system that literally nobody asked for. And now, because it's been implemented so badly, they'll have to spend more resources constantly fixing it. My god, just give me a way to sort my vault, favourite shaders, increase stack sizes of mats etc etc. I'd have been over the moon with any of those. Instead we get guardian ranks. A mind-blowingly bad system that generates animosity. How did this get green-lit ? What was discussed at meetings if what we've been given was considered a good idea? Were they high ?

I'm level headed in the Crucible!! YES!!!! Everybody gets a woke trophy from the bungie devs. Commendations were not well thought out. I'm thoughtful in the Crucible too.. they are dumb. Whoever thought those titles were a good idea should get shyt canned!

It's just to increase the length of the time each match (Strike, NightFall, Gambit etc.) takes by ~ 30 seconds. That's so they can stretch out their play time amount for each character. If you did 5 Strikes, 2 nightfalls, 3 crucible, 3 Gambit matches, 3 Seasonal things, and 2 story missions per character (likely you do more), that adds up to about an extra 9 minutes per week. Multiple by say 1 million people, it adds up to an extra ~ 104 day of "Quality Play Time" (at least in Bungle's mind it is). It's likely 2x higher as many people have more than 1 character. So for minimal effort by the "F" Team (and they screwed that up too), they don't have to make any new content and can increase the player engagement time numbers to show to their new Sony Bosses. Win - Win for Bungle, lose for you and me.

Hawpyにより編集済み: 3/26/2023 3:36:52 PMIt was a nice idea, but poorly executed. If Commendations were to mean anything, then they'd need to be disconnected from any and all forms of progress and be given out more rarely. If it was reserved for the likes of Raids, Dungeons and high-level activities, then it would make sense - were any of the other players particularly helpful, understanding, supportive etc? When I finish a Strike, it doesn't cross my mind to think if either of the players I was with were thoughtful or made the activity more fun by being there, because the kind of interaction that lets you discover that about them simply doesn't happen. Had it been implemented properly, having a high Commendation score would actually hold some value; you'd have gained the respect of many other players, it's visible for all to see, and players can expect you to be a good influence in activities you join.
