I have discord on my old phone, not my current one and don’t turn that one on very often. If discord is a requirement, I’m not interested in a clan. Had quite a few people that feel the same as I do. I have over 8k hours between my 2 profiles so that should show how active I am with the game. I would rather be part of a clan fireteam that gets engrams over just getting the free ones. My opinion is, would a clan want me to be active in discord or the game? With my job, I’m not going to have discord go off or light up my phone at all hours. I’ve joined clans that claim to be active and helpful but they have their tight groups they only run with so I will not join just any clan. I can offer a hand a hundred times without any responses and seldom get invited to join a fireteam. Thank you for the response!

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I love healthy debate and have no beef with your opinion. What I would respond with being a ‘clan guy’ is what is the purpose of a clan? People are going to have different views. Some might say it’s to play the game with like minded players on a regular basis. For me it’s about meeting people, making friends. I couldn’t care less how many active hours a player has if their participation clan wise is poor and without a social space to interact how do u schedule anything? Like I said just offering an opinion as most don’t have the common sense to see there is no right or wrong and people are different.

I agree. I don’t like matchmaking or LFG, my luck has been 💩 I get players that join and go AFK and let the others complete what is being done. A clan in my opinion should be willing to help anyone and everyone that is making it successful. I was always posting offering to run just about anything and very seldom got a response. I would ask for a hand with something and almost never got a response. I saw too many times where people were trying to 2 person something when there’s other members on. I join a clan wanting to make friends and enjoy everything the game has to offer. I don’t care about just collecting the freebies of being in a clan. No clan will look very good if they can’t keep its members. Members won’t stay in most cases if there’s little interaction with the group. I can see the big push for Discord with cross play. I’ve also seen some of the most toxic environments so it makes me cringe. I’m content with just using the Destiny app. I can spend more time in the game than posting. I would rather be sociable in a chat than typing. Thank for the response.
