Let's be real here. Strikes/Comp are free so they aren't going to add any real rewards to them. Comp got a rework with 1 recycled gun. 1 gun that you can't even farm. Now Nightfalls are just getting recycled garbage and the strike/difficulty rework is not coming with any real rewards added. This is all free content and Bungie doesn't care to add good rewards to the free content. They're greedy and they always have been. Ever since the game went free to play the core playlists have been left in the dust. It's depressing.
