Is it not possible to have good old-fashioned easy, normal and hard mode (call them whatever)?
Easy mode for people who want to chill and blast through content with no stress (basic rewards).
Normal mode presents a reasonable challenge (regular rewards).
Hard mode for those who want a tougher challenge (bonus rewards).
Ditch power level?
Sorry if I’ve misunderstood something, but I am confused why there’s a debate about how difficult content should be.

Just to clarify (and expand) on my post:
- there are difficulty options in the game already
- arguing over whether the game should be easy or hard is unnecessary (that’s why difficulty options exist)
- power level complicates ‘easy/normal/hard’
- the power grind is monotonous
- grinding more exciting seasonal mods should replace the power grind
- our build should determine how powerful we are
Just my opinions. Feel free to disagree.

4 通の返信Basic and regular aren’t different. The difficulty of the game has been reduced every major update since warmind came out. A brain dead game is a boring /dead one and we’ve seen potential evidence of this in player numbers for a while. No thought = no strategy = no fun The way I see it, the only way to make the game engaging is to force players to learn build crafting or to actually use builds to their full potential. The game completely changes when you do compared to everything dying instantly with whatever you throw at them

1 返信I don't mind an increase in challenge, I just dislike the approach Bungie has taken with the difficulty increase. All of these delta modifiers everywhere now - I hate 'em. What's the point of leveling when the reward is met with -5, -10, -15 etc etc to our levels? There's got to be a better way. Because for me, this is not the solution.

1 返信I'm glad Bungie is upping the difficulty, we needed it for a while now. No longer will people need to have their hand held. Thank god build crafting 3.0 will help this.

I agree. I don’t enjoy hard/challenging content. I don’t like playing it. However I do understand that other people enjoy it so I have no objection to it being in the game. Just leave me with the option to play at a setting the more hardcore players deem ‘too easy’ because it’s about right for me. -

1 返信I'm worried: Many companies do this if you have less content coming and you want to make it last longer, you increase the difficulty. * It's why so many older console games were so tough. They offered less content so made that content harder...

12 通の返信Because some people want to gatekeep. Ask any casual, and they'll have no objection to hard mode, they just won't participate in it so long as they're still able to do the content at a lower difficulty. Ask the sweats, and they don't want casuals in the game even though it doesn't affect them. It's easy to see where the problem lies. :)

7 通の返信While I can't dispute your initial premise, just reading posts that are commonplace on the forum show that the rewards thing will likely fall flat rather quickly. I believe the phrase used most often (Trials of Osiris readily springs to mind) is "gating" better gear behind a difficulty level.
