You’re only looking at the similarities and ignoring the differences.
The differences are vastly more important.
Take another look and mull over the differences and tell me if you can see it.
I agree with the differences being extremely important.
This is the first time in Elsie's loop where she actually made changes with impact. Keep in mind that she tried before and failed and reset.
So there is a lot from the Dark Future that did not come to pass. Does it mean we have avoided the outcome fully? Not yet... I think there are still things that happened there that could very easily take place with the right nudge. But the differences from being in that timeline are not negligible!
Oh we will see some elements of it for sure but we will avoid the bad ending, it’s the whole point of the storyline.
The key factor was us. The Guardian who stops the Black Heart without falling to corruption. Who is then able to save Eris, lynchpin to defeating the Darkness.
Bungie gave away the ending in base D2. It’s just a matter of getting there.
