The reason they did it is was because the FreeLance was full of people and few except the 6 man Stomp Squads were playing in the normal. Streamers tend to be in large groups together and us solo players weren't available for a good old fashion Pub Stomp, so Bungle forced us into it so the streamers weren't playing against each other. And add in the fact it's end of season, Bungle has no new content coming and people have been bored with the game for months, the population has dropped significantly and they likely had to consolidate their play list.
