The title explains it all, and while I don’t think anything will ever top Forsaken; Lightfall is gonna have to be almost on parr with it or better.
I know it’s a normal thing for the game to die down a little bit whilst waiting for a DLC, but when you have hardcore, dedicated, and masochistic players like myself who have quit cold Turkey? I think there lies a problem in the game at that point.
I haven’t taken this long of a break from D2 in a very very long time, and it’s been extremely refreshing to be able to play a game how I want to and not be shoehorned into a certain playstyle/build to do well easier.
Let’s also not forget just how many very very hyped up games are coming out here in about a month or two as well, so once again Bungie needs to show us why this game is worth playing. Why this is the game we should come to when we have downtime in our day to play.
The numbers over the past few weeks have almost reached Curse of Osiris lows, and if you were around during that time; you know how dire this could be for the game as a whole.
I think I’ve said enough now, but I don’t want this game to die out; and it’s most certainly heading down that path right now.

3 通の返信It appears that you are mostly a PvP player, so I can't offer any real hope. PvE is in a better place except for the narrative, which sometimes is good or feels like some 6th grader shipping themselves into a character. There is some dialog that gives me PTSD because it is so bad.

Luke smith himself said that we'll likely never see another expansion like Forsaken ever again, we need to remember that Forsaken had 3 studios in total that worked on it, Bungie, High moon and Vicarious Visions, so its best to put that hope to bed. I think we can expect Lightfall to be similar to witch queen, if not a bit grander. We'll get a pretty decent re-playable campaign with a good raid, a brand new subclass which i'm sure is going to be fun, if not OP in PVP until its nerfed. We're getting a massive overhaul to the armor mod system (essentially armor 3.0) as well as ingame loadouts and LFG which are systems that have been requested for years, for me that's huge! can't wait for that loadout system and mod overhaul, its been all over the shop since armor 2.0 in shadowkeep. Now lets talk about the meat and potatos, the stuff that we'll be doing after the first couple of weeks of the expansion, we'll probably get 1 new strike and a reprised one from D1, the season that ships with Lightfall will most likely be pretty good, like Risen was for witch queen, the overhaul to the focusing system will be good as well, we can finally focus old armor sets and weapons we missed out on in vanguard ops, crucible, trials , gambirt and iron banner. It's important to note that Bungie has already said that we won't see a change to the seasonal model until halfway through the year, so don't expect the first season to be much different to what we have now. PVP is a joke so don't expect anything there, Bungie are allocating their top PVP people to their new PVP game. Gambit is also a joke so don't even waste time thinking about that. Now is it going to bring people back? maybe initially, but i'm sure over time the numbers will go down, that's what happens when you have a game running for almost a decade that hasn't changed drastically since its inception, but will the game die? not a chance, Destiny has no competition and still has a dedicated enough playerbase for it to keep going at its current pace. We've seen all the posts from people saying they aren't buying lightfall or they've refunded it, all i'll say to that is look at the player numbers on lightfall day 1, i wouldn't be surprised if it's at 1 million+ concurrent players, just as witch queen day 1 was.
