Im not educated in the proper ways to express myself online so sorry if you literally pass away reading this.
I don’t know what happened to destiny or when exactly it lost it’s spark but it’s depressing. I see so many people in the forums dropping great ideas, things that if implemented would be amazing but those ideas never make it to the game. I know it’s their game and they will add what they want to it but i would think as a game developer one of your top priorities would be to like… make your game good. And fun. But anyways, im going to cry in the forums now because I use to really enjoy playing destiny with my friends. And now I kinda just don’t, but I want to? Idk. I’ll touch grass after this I swear.
PvE is always the same grind fest over and over. Some boring 3 man activity that rewards like 4 guns and a new color warlock dress(I am silly warlock main). Raids (I’ve done like 3 raids but theyve all been kind of boring or annoying due to teaching my friends how to do the mechanics) or dungeons just seem to be the same thing over and over again. And if you want the best loot from them well, you’re going to most likely get way too familiar with them. Bungie designs some of the most amazing scenery and skyboxes but it’s like no one in their studio has imagination. When you get a degree in video game design do you just lose the capability to imagine new cool things? Not to be an ace, but weapons are all re skins at this point. Me and my friends can sit down with a pencil and paper and draw you like 15 crude ideas of new weapons in 10 minutes. No way you guys are to a point where you just re color weapons and call it good. Poor titans haven’t been able to walk straight through a door frame for years thanks to their massive shoulders. Warlocks have been wearing dresses for 10 years now. Hunters kinda usually look sick so that’s good for them.
The patrol areas are more or less dead. You added a sick area for witch queen and then just let it die. Why didn’t the story add to that area? Why wouldn’t you build onto it as much as you can? Add public boss events and dungeons that can be accessed from the patrol area? You guys spent so much time designing a cool area and then just left it empty. I did the witch queen quests and had absolutely no want to explore the throne world since public events give me some glimmer and a blue. Oh there’s hidden moths there? Cool I guess. 3 people in patrol areas?? Ok I have 4 friends so that’s out of the question.
Pvp is a mess (in my opinion) and I’m trash at it so I don’t have a say in that.
But for the love of god bring combined arms into the game. It was silly, and fun. Let me and my friends get blown up by nova bombs while we drive drake tanks around or something.
Im not a game dev, im basically a village idiot, but if you all would just release a 6 man wave based survival mode that me and my friends could load into and just slay wave after wave after wave of thrall in a big open area [and no, not anything like ketchcrash that wasnt cash money.. to me though] and give me a new cool purple gun every now and then that would be sick.
Not an exotic, because those have been ruined by the sheer amount and underwhelming-ness? Of exotics. Half the exotics should have just been cool legendarys or something. Im rambling on sorry.
People in the forums drop super cool ideas all the time and I feel the game always goes the opposite direction. Im just kinda bummed thinking that lightfall is going to be a new patrol area that I visit like 4 times to do the quests and a new raid that I spend 12 hours teaching my friends how to do all for us to immediately go back to Crucible where I have to listen to them complain about it again.
So yeah TL;DR roast me in the comments I love drinking pickle juice straight from the jar

I’ll try to put it simply. Destiny is the WoW of the modern era. Not a new idea exactly but something that got lucky once yet bungie didn’t really wanna build off of it. I don’t believe at the moment (or who knows when) that there’s devs on the destiny team that are visionaries and wanna take risks for the sake of pushing the franchise forward in a innovative matter. They’ll just keep adding on stuff to grind and things to do in a limited time space week after week because either execs are telling them so or the dev team isn’t experienced enough to make anything truly innovative.

3 通の返信Didn’t read your whole rant… these forums at the moment (or for the last year or so have been 90% -blam!- and moaning)… but I’ll share my opinion… There is a group of vocal players that have a toxic relationship with this game and it’s content. Bungie has been pretty clear for a long time about the amount and scale of the content they can make for the game in the live service format of seasons and yearly expansions. Very clear. Some are content creators (which in and of itself probably fosters that mindset because it’s not a healthy way to interact with a game)… but a lot of them are people who are just unwilling to let go of their preconceived notions of what the game needs or where the game is going (or has been… a la rose tinted spectacles). To put it another way… if you had a friend who was in a relationship and the majority (vast majority) of the comments and thoughts that friend ever spoke about their partner were criticisms, denigrations and put downs… what advice would you give that friend? What do you think that friend should do about that relationship?

Just here to comment on the raid/dungeon section. I mostly agree. I recently been watching other raiding content from more established mmos and they are pretty creative. They develop new enemies, new mechanics, and new stuff.

I just spent more time reading your post than have played D2 since almost Halloween. I did fire it up a few weeks back because I have the season pass. My ps plus had ran out. No multiplayer. I laughed. Played for a bit and turned it off. Been a fun run but the nonsense is unacceptable. Anything else would be returned for a refund. Fool me once.......

Lucky_Hollywoodにより編集済み: 1/11/2023 10:00:11 AMThis game is on the back burner. It has been for awhile Give me 1 good logical reason that you would take all your best ppl off the game and put them on new projects and then replace them with interns as though there would be no issue. There is no job where you get rid of your best workers and replace them. That is a horrible business model. You are basically guaranteeing subpar content and disappointment at that point. They want the game to keep going but have new writers on it every three months. Its like a bad game of telephone, as nobody gets to start or finish anything they write and you are then left with the mess that is the story now with massive continuity errors and plotholes. Its really insulting to our intelligence and even more irritating that we've continued to pay for a game that was marketed as finished, yet clearly they are making up as they go along. They said it themselves I'd almost be willing to claim false advertising and deceptive business practices as they havent ever really delivered what was advertised. Had they made their intentions clear at the beginning that they intended to make the game infinite like WoW, i never would have bought in. I dont want to play a game with no end, but they neglected to mention it until about 8 years in (again deceptive) PS: My favorite part is logging on every tuesday to do a 5 min mission and talk to 5 ppl, to then wait another week to do the exact same thing. If you wait till the end of the season you can do the whole 54 step questline in 2 hours or less. #gladipaidforthat #ilovetimegating #dripfedcontent #carrotonastick #theyareokwithnocontent #thisisintentional #thisistokeepactiveplayerbasenumbershigherthantheyactuallyare #inflatingthenumbers #fudgingthenumberstolookbetter
I don’t know what happened to destiny or when exactly it lost it’s spark but it’s depressing.
That happened when Destiny 2 came out. Just slightly kidding. For me, moving over to seasonal pass model, sunsetting, re-releasing old content, focusing on monetisation and lack of quality content has been what has killed it for me.

1 返信Same feedback for years but these greedy devs don’t care, community deserves better, solo bungie is worthless
-
People in the forums drop super cool ideas all the time and I feel the game always goes the opposite direction.
This is because Bungie doesn’t actually listen to the community if it goes against anything they want for Destiny. Any criticism of the game is passed off as negativity and toxicity, and the Bungie devs lock themselves in an echo chamber of their white knights. It’s high time we realize that Destiny 2 is just a revenue stream for Bungie and move on to something new.

So yeah TL;DR roast me in the comments I love drinking pickle juice straight from the jar
No pickle juice here, but I have tasted it before, and no, just no, it's not a thing for me. Anyway, the problem's not with you, it's all Bungie. I've had a few ideas myself, seen even more ideas by others posted only to be shot down by a Bungie employee masquerading as a gamer saying, "no", with no real reason as to why. (It must be too much work for them since Bungie only wants to do the bare minimum work for maximum profit, that's not going to fly any more.) It may be because they flat out can't do it, since "content is hard". At this point, Bungie doesn't want to do better. Destiny 1 was a one off, it isn't going to get any better, only worse. Save your money.

2 通の返信So... There is this GDC presentation "From Box Products to Live Service" by Justin Truman where he boasts about Bungie's ability to deliver new content fast at the cost of quality (we'll fix that later, if ever, ha!), that pretty much explains the current state of Destiny 2 since Forsaken. As long as they keep insisting on delivering subpar content at this rate, instead of, you know, focus on doing some quality work for the core of the game with bigger gaps between small releases, the game will remain this rough.

2 通の返信Nailed it. Destiny2 now is nothing more than a glorified Mobile game on consoles(PC).

6 通の返信So much has changed I remember staying up and waiting for the weekly reset . I remember how getting an exotic was very rare and exciting I remember when Destiny 1 was touted in so many game magazines . I remember when there was a third party app that indicated when public events were going to drop in the cosmodrome and you would have to split the teams and call out the area when the sky begin to go dark . I remember the excitement when the Vex dropped from the vault for the first time or getting Ice breaker after my friend had it for almost a week . Barely slept because I wanted to get up and show it off the next day . Like being a kid playing a silly video game . I remember the Arkon Priest and having to hind under the platform to peek shoot him for damn near 40 minutes when it was the nightfall. I remember when streamers were just getting into this game . “The north remembers “ I remember when my friends and I used to dread going down into the pit and running from the thralls . Sometimes we would just send a Hunter to cruise through for us . You know take the shortcut and all . A lot has changed .

Not sure why you call yourself the village idiot I get where you are coming from. It seems like D2 is super hard or boring easy and not much in between. You are more eloquent than most that post here. I like your approach maybe they will listen because you are not beating them up evey other word. My thoughts. Did you do the Parasite quest? I loved it and so do many others in my clan. I wish they would do a lot more side quests for purples as you call them and exotics. Quests that allow playes to chill together, chat and have a good time. That's what the game is supposed to be about. We ran the new duneon last night and had 5 people in the discord chat and it was the best part of the run. The loot was trash but the companionship was great. This is how the game should be focused. Getting players together to have a good time. I hope you can find somemore enjoyable moments with your friends.

Bungie would rather fart out “fast” content. You can have 4 drip fed seasons with the seasonal activities, or we can go back to one huge update and 9 months of nothing. I’m agreeing with you, I’ve basically lost 2 clans since WQ dropped from players leaving. I want to see these last two expansions, and how the saga ends. But I’m done with Bungie after D2 ends. They don’t make games they want to play anymore. They make money. From countless casuals and whales.
-
People can play however they want but I really do not understand why anyone would play this game for PvE and NOT do the top-tier PvE content - raids and dungeons. Like what is the point of anything if you're just doing strikes, patrols and brain dead seasonal activities. Not like you need good gear for any of that.

1 返信That's why I DNT understand Vorpal... It does more Vehicle damage... So your using that at extremely rare instances of your not boss fighting.

2 通の返信They don't listen to people on the forums, even when they have good ideas, because people on the forums are focused on making the game more enjoyable (understandably, of course). But Bungie has pretty well said that a more enjoyable game is not necessarily a more profitable one. If anyone actually wants to see an idea implemented they need to have a strong argument as to why it will net Bungie more money. Something other than "more enjoyable game = more people playing = more money" because Bungie has clearly determined this to be false in their minds.
-
to be brutally honest, this is what happens when people shell out money sight unseen for future seasons and dlc. they have your money already, so where's the incentive for them to make it actually good with new ideas? everyone who has pre-ordered any content in this game is to blame. sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings.

2 通の返信Sohsuhにより編集済み: 1/10/2023 2:41:49 PMThe problem is they let things overstay their welcome, time and time again. Like the European Aerial Zone for the summer event. It was great when it first arrived, and then the next year it was alright, but they did it again for a 3rd year which was just too much. It was awful then. Same with Guardian Games being the same thing. Haunted Forest overstayed its welcome and now the haunted lost sectors have too. Worst of all, the new seasonal model they introduced with Beyond Light is the same one we have today. What they should be doing is having a brand new seasonal model with each expansion, so every year feels different. Beyond Light had the Helm with all the nodes to unlock that we see today, so Witch Queen should have dropped with a completely new seasonal model/social area like the helm, so that the WQ year felt different. Instead, they kept copy and pasting the same thing on us and now everyone is tired of it. The worst decision they have made is sticking with last gen consoles. They said themselves that patrols are the way they are because of last gen. They can't add a ton to them, or flood them with enemies and bosses and whatnot, because last gen wouldn't be able to handle it. We are held back by weak consoles and they would rather have that money than see Destiny actually somewhat reach it's potential. Imagine what they could do if it went next gen only. It's a shame really because Destiny 2 could have been the best game of all time if they actually allowed it to be.

2 通の返信the spark died when bungie decided to pander to the kids that play fortnite and tell the veterans that have been paying for the crap since day 1 to get lost after all bungie needs to suck 14yo dry with cosmetics, and if you dare speak about the issue, youll hurt te devs soft fee-fees and get your posts deleted guess gas-lighting is bungies new MO
