It is natural to see people drop way off at the end of a season. It's also natural for live service games in general to be in a constant debatable state of well-being. It's natural for Bungie not to be good at communicating with D2's players. It's natural for Bungie to deceive their playerbase (In the early days of D2 it was XP throttling, There's also outright lies about nerfs and things in D1. look it up if you don't know).
So yeah, even if not OK, most of this is actually "normal" for Destiny and Bungie. The forums are exactly the same as they were back when I first started using them in D1. Still entertaining as ever though.
Thats what saddens me tho. Its normal but isn’t OK and I don’t think Bungie should feel like that’s acceptable, obviously I don’t. Maybe I’m blinded by nostalgia, but it doesn’t feel like they’re putting in as much work as they used too.
I have issues with the company's ethos towards its players. Bungie has been caught in quite a few lies, deceptions, and hypocrisies, but that has more to do with management. As far as the everyday devs that are making assets, artwork, sound design, etc, I think they're very talented. Even if seasons are getting stale and seasonal events are broken. That's all on management too.
