I for one can't remember the last GM I ever did. Not because I don't want to, not because I don't have anyone to play with, not because the loot sucks, but purely because I don't play the game enough.
At the end of the day, I'd rather boot up Stuart Little on PS2 than a game of gambit for a duplicate pinnacle.

Dirtrider00により編集済み: 11/11/2022 1:36:29 PMGetting to the softcap is pretty easy. They need to trash the pinnacle/powerful leveling system from the softcap to the hardcap though. Leveling should never be random. Honestly, the whole leveling system needs a rework. Right now it just feels like its there to keep the hampster wheel spinning. edit: spelling

I dont get this. Im sorry but the only way you CANT reach end game is if you like play an hour a week and dont do ANY bounties or activities. I get to play three days a week TOPS if im lucky and still make end game. it isnt gate keeping if you just dont have the time.

66 通の返信$hirtless Captain Kirkにより編集済み: 11/9/2022 8:01:38 PMAs a player with high "end game" light level, I agree. It's a stupid mechanic that's artificial. There's rumors light level is going away and only artifact level will matter, but that seems stupid too. Game is dying largely due to access restrictions in varied ways. Then you have gatekeeping neckbeards like: "tHaTs wHy iTs eNdGaMe." These people would cut their nose to spite their face. Time for Destiny to lighten up a little bit. Always been an endgame player since the earliest days of the franchise, and I'd like to see that more accessible to ALL players. The stupid elitist mindset just shows you have no other accomplishments in your life but beating some artificial number in Destiny. Rly pathetic. I see a lot of scummy, low life responses to this thread. What a pack of losers. Check my light level, plz. You're scum if you think it makes you special.

Light level should be removed COMPLETELY! I would settle for one increase per year at major expansions. I personally have zero issue getting to GM level (I’m currently about 1605) but it is boring getting there and it would help others as well.

Two things. One: I agree with you in that gatekeeping content particularly GM's is a foolish practice. I say let people access it immediately and if they can do it below light level then it's all the more challenging. If they had matchmaking then sure gatekeep it to be fair to others, but if someone wants to put a team together that is below light level they should be able to do it. Two: It is not that difficult to reach max light level. I play one character, work full time, have kids etc. I play in the evening and sometimes on weekends. If you do bounties, seasonal challenges and make sure I hit the pinnacle drops weekly and just play the game then you can get there easily. And, once you get there it's that much easier the next season because it's just ten levels so you start farming pinnacles immediately. I think you should be able to play how you want to play. I don't really like the grind each season for light level. It feels very pointless. Is it difficult, not really but that doesn't make it fun so I can see how some people don't do it.

Motorhead Englandにより編集済み: 11/10/2022 11:38:25 PMSo in a nutshell, the OP wants to buy the game and jump straight into raid or GM. I wish I could afford to shell out £70 + for two hours of gameplay. The campaign, the grind of levelling up, and collecting loot is the fundamental structure of the game. The endgame content is there for players who like a bigger challenge, although due to the insane builds that can be created, there's no need to be max level. Plus the rewards are barely worth it anyway. I suggest that if the OP doesn't like playing the basic game of Destiny, he/she should stick to Stuart Little

its a complex solution for a simple problem.. how do we keep people invested, hooked and playing imagine if you had to work really hard to unlock the new 3.0 stuff and that allowed you to complete content easier id much prefer that to a number that means nothing of course this now puts the complexity into the subclass design instead which could be a pain to design but i think it would be for the best you could make solar abilities deal 200x more damage to red health in PVE as an example so something like gun power gambit would be insane for ad clearing in turn it would be really hard to obtain it in the first place

I agree that it’s annoying but I hit both easily by the time GMs are available. Pinnacle cap is easy to hit if you’re doing endgame activities with any sort of frequency. Doing just dungeons and raids, not even trying to go for the other sources I hit max light level after around 6-7 weeks. Artifact level is entirely passive and with minimal prep during these last few weeks of the season where there’s nothing else to do, is crazy effective. Not to mention just picking up a few bounties when you stop at the tower makes this a joke. (Pinnacle light level + 15 artifact levels means you are as powerful as you can be going into a GM) Some changes could be nice: Having drop protection on pinnacle sources to cut down on repeats and dropping the artifact level needed for GMs to +10 (on top of pinnacle light) are both easy QoL changes. Just getting rid of the system both removes progression for players (we removed thsi and complained to the point Bungie overhauled the Pinnacle and made the Artifact level system entirely to counter this. We’ve gone down this path before.) and it helps Bungie by giving players a reason to engage with a wider variety of activities. Does this pad time? Yes. But it also gives us something to do.

MuffsFatManにより編集済み: 11/10/2022 7:09:35 PMI dint really understand, looking at the match history you have done very little that would further your light level this week/reset? What I can agree on is a hood luck protection for duplicate gear. For example turn 3 unused gear pieces into one random gear piece or something like that.

9 通の返信Almost all day 1 raiders make max light in a few days. I'm max light and season pass 100 in the first few days of a season and thats playing. It is not hard if you do things effectively. It would seem you are just doing your powerful and pinnacle grind in any old random order.

13 通の返信An insane amount of time? No. However, It can if you take steps to make it take longer than it should. So what are you doing to level up to think this way? If one wants to get their guardians leveled then they will do it. With the ability to gain massive amounts of XP in very short periods of time from certain challenges and the amount of pinnacle activities available each week its a wonder why you would say it takes an insane amount of time?
