I'm in the bottom 1% of players in Control and Trials of Osiris in PvP. How do I move up to the bottom 2%? I mostly use Vex Mythoclast but seems to be outmatched by a lot of other weapons. Besides that, people can just run away well before the weapon kills them. I also try using Heritage, but it's useless since I cannot keep my crosshair on an enemy at close range to hit them (they move too fast). Sometimes I melee enemies, but my opponents' always do more damage. I also have issues with enemies not being where I expect when going around corners or peek shooting. I also tend to choke a lot, and my already low accuracy decreases even further.
Earlier today, I wanted to dabble a bit in Trials of Osiris, so I got a couple friends together and we did poorly. At least we enjoyed each others' company, but we never got a win, and only a couple of won rounds, so I didn't even get rank points!
I know I'm the problem here, and that whenever I play outside of a premade fireteam, I know that I will always drag other players down, no matter how hard I try. Anyone who has seen me on their team in Control or Trials probably remembers their experience as a negative one. I play Destiny 2 PvP because I enjoy the variety and the spectacle. How do I improve, so that I can at least be in the bottom 2%?
Thanks,
Hypergolicity

Unbreakable Patchesにより編集済み: 11/7/2022 4:16:50 PMAt your level I think it’s literally just a matter of putting in time if you want to get better. Fundamentals just like aiming and movement are gonna need to be tackled before anything else. Not to mention just a general “game sense”.

Play rumble. If you are serious about improving Rumble is the place to do it. It teaches you game sense and let's you engage in 1v1 duels far more often which is what you need to improve. Learn the maps. Learn the sniper lanes and don't double peak. Make a PvP build (lots of videos out there). Get your resilience above 60.

If you're having fun with friends, you've already got the important part down. Everything else just kinda falls in place the more you play. Utilize cover, even when shooting, and find a weapon that you can get a natural rhythm with. For me, pulses, bows, and sidearms. I could never get submachine guns or hand cannons to click. Don't sit in any one spot too long, but also don't just run wild all over the map. Usually a good idea to have an escape plan when you decide to get into a gunfight. If you're playing with your buds, get in the habit of communicating what you're about to do before you actually do it. Makes a huge difference when your team can get in place to support you! Have fun with it, man

1. Watch some better players play. Look at how they move and make decisions and why. Try to incorporate those things into your game. 2. But before that, make sure you're building your character properly. Get your stats right for the build you want to run. Get your mods set up for the weapons and such that you're using. Extra notes: Vex Mythoclast is a strong gun. It's own strength isn't the issue. Maybe it doesn't suit your build or playstyle, though. Play parts of maps and ranges that suit your loadouts. Don't fall into where the other team wants you to be

I would try to use weapons that feel comfortable. Vex is a decent weapon but if you’re not used to the recoil and play style, it won’t work out. Get familiar with the maps, don’t push by yourself in a lane with a lot of enemy players, team shoot and stick with at least one other players and take turns peaking. I wish you luck in your endeavours.

3 通の返信best mode to improve is rumble, helps improve alot having to find enemies and engage multiple at once and stay alive.

4 通の返信Epocにより編集済み: 11/5/2022 9:17:35 PMIt appears you main Warlock. Should prolly stop doing that. Next use Hunter, with invis + khepri sting or gyrfalcon. Practice with dodge now. Slide out and shoot at your target, if you don't see yellow numbers dodge and run away. Then practice being aggressive with invisibility, use khepri to give you the advantage of wall hacks, and report player locations to team mates. Practice gyrfalcon by being the first one to shoot since they can't see you on radar. Fusions, linear fusions, grenade launchers, all top tier with Gyrfalcons. Once you get good enough, troll anyone and everyone on the forums that complains about the above tactics. Also, best deny being a hunter main, and call warlocks whinelocks. (Hunter main starter pack)

Slug shotguns are all about anticipation. Being able to flick onto a head is a nice skill to have but for the most part thats not something you should rely on. Thats your hail mary when you get caught with your pants down 😂

Just let me tell you this - I don't remember a single nick of any person I ever played Control, or anything else with. No matter how well or poorly they played. Trust me, most people don't care, so first of all - relax. I have zero advice about pvp though. Maybe try experimenting with different weapons and find what works for you. Don't just use whatever is currently meta.

I suggest checking out Shadow Destiny and Castle Content because they have some good tip videos. And if you ever want a break from the learning and practicing, go check out TDT’s dev letters they’re really funny. And also check out Kackishd and Evaze for more Destiny 2 related content.

If anyone is curious, I'm pretty new to PvP, especially relative to those I play against. I'm trying to get into PvP because most of the higher level PvE content I either cannot access, or it just isn't as challenging as being up against another player, that can be like a super agile overload hobgoblin (large pool of regenerating HP and uses abilities) that dances after killing you.
