Also a note is that we're talking about a franchise the fans completely overlooked writing in. Halo 3 had Chief as a very emotional and a bit unstable character, but only after 343 took over people somehow noticed it in 4.

2 通の返信Halo died after Reach. Bungies current game sequel sucks, so does 343's attempt at keeping a franchise interesting. Halo 343 and TV is Halo in name alone, both have a clown playing cosplay as Master Chief, gross...
Have you ever removed your helmet? has it ever been removed by others? Then you are the Master Chief no longer!
So you have a game that is 20 years old, and people still insist that it play like it did in the early 2000s. Despite the fact that gaming and gaming tastes have dramatically changed since then. I tried to play Halo: Infinite. Its gameplay felt painfully slow and clunky by modern standards. It is a game whose play is REALLY not aging well, except in the eyes of nostalgic fans. There's a story about penguins I remember from a documentary I once watched. What struck me is that, once the egg hatches, both the mother and father penguins take turns carrying the hatchling around on their feet in order to keep it off the ground and to keep it warm. Once the youngling reaches a certain age it gets too big to be carried around on the parent's feet. So the vast majority of them stopped doing it and let the young bird get around on its own. But every so often something goes wrong, and the parents won't stop. They keep insisting on forcing the young bird to return to being carried around on their feet. Unfortunately, the outcome is that they eventually SMOTHER the young bird, and it dies. Because, in a very real way, they refuse to let it grow up. Point: When you refuse to let something change, you have made the decision to destroy it. Even if you don't realize it at the time. The game isn't being destroyed by 343. Its being destroyed by fans who want to keep the game frozen in time, and refuse to let 343 evolve the game and find a way to keep it relevant after 20 years.

Bungie will never buy back Halo, Bungie doesn't want Halo back; Do you really think they'd buy back a shitty live service game, when they already have plans for a new IP? get the -blam!- out of here. Humanity will live; your beef with the moderators on Waypoint is stupid; OP is lettuce.

Being an fan of the OG Halos, I don't think Bungie would be able to save it anymore. They are too far gone and far away from what they were when they did make the games, that I have no faith that they would do right by it anymore either. With today's model of dissenting games into bite size chunks, making buying stuff in game more important than actual useful content, I don't know who would be able to bring the franchise back to it's former glory. So, I just play MCC campaign stuff at least once a week....

2 通の返信The only thing Bungie would do differently than 343 is cut the campaign up into small 10 minute weekly released chunks for a third the price, then delete them every few months to sell more.
