This week has brought us two seasonal challenges and a FotL triumph that actively force us to compete against our teammates to complete. One seasonal challenge requires Ruffian kills, so you have to sabotage your blueberries to get them to actually spawn. The other requires you to summon your first mate in seasonal activities, leading to everyone camping the summon flag during boss battles instead of actually playing the game.
Then there’s the FotL triumph where you have to kill all 15 headless ones in each haunted sector. Which is essentially impossible if you have even a single teammate that just wants to burn the boss.
Just… stop. With this design. Make your activities conducive to teamwork instead of forcing matchmade teams to sabotage each other to achieve personal goals. It’s tiring and frustrating.

Scratchにより編集済み: 10/25/2022 12:12:17 AMI'm no businessman, but if I wanted my players to bug their friends into buying/playing my game, the easiest/cheapest/best idea I could come up with would be to make playing solo such a miserable experience the players would have to bug their friends to get them to play in order to get anything done. .... but that's just me .... I mean, that can be it, can it? No. Definitely not.

GenXerにより編集済み: 10/21/2022 4:47:44 PMThere are so many more examples of this, and people have complained about this for years, now. In fact, there have been so many complaints for so long in this vein that I think some people have gotten tired of proffering their usual retort exhorting people to form their own groups. This method of artificially extending play time is asinine at this point.

Just did all 15 and had a random team but no credit was given on the gilded triumph!

2 通の返信I can ever only get three Bosses to spawn because nobody understands. Maybe DNT put a challenge into a Matchmaking random mode?

1 返信My favorite is when blueberries see there are 2 more flags to be captured and decide to hang with you at A while B and C are about to run out of time and disappear. Common sense isn't that common anymore.

A basic design principle of Destiny is that they want to encourage people to play with others and collaborate. You could just type in Text Chat that you're looking to complete the triumph, or you could LFG it, or you could bring friends.

There's another one if you want to get gilded title for festival of the lost. It's in the haunter lost sectors called "One of Many" and you have to spawn, tag with a hit and kill 15 headless ones before your teammates melt them. To make it even worse is there's no LFG for the event making it hard to find a team doing the same thing.

One of the best features of old-school Destiny, accidental or not, was how cooperative the community was. D1 was known for guardians helping each other out and D2 was the same for a long time. When Wayfarer was new, I met gaming friends because I'd just stick around and help random blueberries win the seal. Now, activities pit teammates against each other, some weapons can be used for friendly fire, and PVP is getting more and more toxic. I can't remember the last time a blueberry asked me for help. I haven't seen a spontaneous dance party in the Tower for ages. It's rare for players to revive teammates in Elimination or Survival. Destiny keeps making us find clans and teams for activities but at the same time, the community spirit is long gone.

1 返信Their response? "But....but how else will we make you constantly run the same activities over and over again ?"

It's Bungie, they will never learn or improve, never seen such an incompetent game developer and one that never listens to feedback, and if they do get critical feedback they start crying on Twitter about hurt feelings just because one or two of them got personal. They test stuff with 2-3 guys internally and probably just do it once, they obviously don't play the game like the real players do judging from literally any triumph ever released in the game.

PLEASE Bungie.... PLEASE put some thought and effort into this crap. It's not rocket science. A smidgeon of effort, a lil QA and we'd be happy lil wallets for you! We're starving down here for fresh new content and you keep giving us left overs, nerfing fun stuff, and regugitating old crap down our throats like a mama bird and telling us it's duck a l'orange while denying us desert until we hand over our credit cards. Nobody is too big to fail, and these are the early warning signs.

8 通の返信Sorry if this seems a little off-topic - I agree with what you're saying, making random team-mates compete with each other to complete stuff is just... well it's NOT a team activity then is it! But taking in the larger picture, this just seems to be the way that Bungie does the game in general: Players are forced to 'team' up with (and compete against - for kills/bounties etc) random people for the easiest content that could for the most part be easily solo'd, but for the hardest content unless you have a group of friends for a pre-made fireteam you're up that foul smelling creek with no means of propulsion ... sure you can try to solo some of the activities, but that's likely about as much fun as (seasonally appropriate metaphor incoming) bobbing for apples in the aforementioned creek, without goggles or nose-plugs! The reason for this (I assume) is that if players were simply allowed to solo basic Strikes etc. then they would be able to farm bounties too easily, the act of pitting "team-mates" against each other in a co-opetitive manner is a means to achieve the desired balance of 'game-pacing'. For all the hype about 'LFG' finally coming to D2 in an official capacity (and after how long? Seriously!) when there is already an effective mechanism for matchmaking fireteams in-game just smacks of WTAF ... wwhhyyyy? Just allow players to play the easy stuff solo (if they want to) and extend the existing match-making to include Dungeons, Raids, GM Nightfalls and basically everything else that currently says "Don't have a clan or D2 friends? Sorry this activity is not for you!" - You built a wall that wasn't needed that just kept (solo) players out, which forced third-parties to build a path that went around the wall, and now you're building a door in the wall... just knock down the damned wall!

Scenario 1: One teammate: "Hey! You stole my Ruffian kill! I needed that for my triumph!" Other teammate: "Whatever kid. I got to him first. Git gud." ------------------------------------------------------------------- Scenario 2: One teammate: "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?! WE'RE TRYING TO KILL THOSE HEADLESS ONES!" Other Teammate: "Then maybe you should find a fireteam of people as slow as you, scrub." ------------------------------------------------------------------- Bungie in both scenarios.

I like this thinking. I mean it isn't a case of 'git gud' for me, its more about the fact that this kind of situation leads directly to frustration and toxicity, regardless of who is the 'better' player. I'd rather be a better PERSON than a better player, if that's what it takes to be 'good'.

1 返信Bungie is utterly inept. They keep doing the same stupid crap over and over again.
