Pretty much every big DLC hits.
That being said, the things between them, namely seasons and events, are starting to become very lackluster.
FOTL is a copy/pasted version of last years event with the same problems many complained about last time (Based in Lost Sectors, having to wait for boss spawn, immunity-phase bosses, etc). The only good part about this event is the new sniper, which you literally give a god roll of to everyone (whose quest wasn't bugged). I do appreciate that as I can now almost wholly avoid this mess.
Season of Plunder has been one of the slowest, least interesting seasons we've had to date littered with downgrades like us having to wait till halfway through the season to get ONE (1) guarantted deepsight seasonal weapon a week, something that was standard in previous season(s).
I won't go through the entire list of complaints as it can get pretty subjective. I just hope there's recognition up in Seattle as to how this season and event is being received and the general tone amongst the vocal portion of the playerbase towards those things.
I do doubt that any of it is taken to heart as lightfall will swoop in to lift the playerbase numbers and drive engagement only to land us right back here a couple months into it.

2 通の返信I don’t expect much from the free holiday events. I’d like more, I’d always like more, but I don’t feel like I’m owed it for any reason. I wouldn’t want them to take resources off of paid content and experiences just to boost free events. I would also like better design philosophy regarding making grinds. This season themed around pirate treasure has been one of the stingiest with rewards and currency. I would also like to see more profits make their way back into production of content. Bungie already built what is basically a content factory for the game. I do want to see them get bigger in scope more frequently.

I don't know man. There is basically no one left from the original D1 team, and they have lost talent at an alarming rate. I'm seriously not sure they are talented enough to produce great content anymore. The best part of their best expansion wasn't even made by them. I'm not 100% the new DLC will slap, it might just be more of the same.

Eh This last year went from solid to god beyond boring since Activision left the scene while there are alot of QoL updates the seasonal model as a whole ain't it this hit and miss structure gives little hope. All WQ did was actually show a story in destiny better than the basic bear bones Taken king was after that....nah same stuff with no real spice just doubling down on bugs and champions

4 通の返信Remember menagerie or black armory, two seasons that added unique and fun things to do, easy ways to chase loot. I don’t know who bungie lost or demoted between them and now but his damn they need them back. All “content” is now is just slaughtering waves of enemies until you get to the boss. Boring repetitive and unrewarding.

2 通の返信I wish Bungie would be more clear what we are purchasing with the annual pass. BC if it's just going to be four S18s - I'm out. I'll just buy the expansion & free-to-play.

I'm not so sure, it's the same cost as shadowkeep, and like that dlc includes the season you buy it in. Shadowkeep campaign takes 55 mins, it's a clear sign that the dlc can't carry itself for the cost and rather than lost revenue they force the price by adding the season. They're also forcing dungeons purchases with lightfall deluxe, unlike last year when it was a pre order bonus.

20 通の返信1. Development bandwidth. Bungie has always struggled to keep the game stocked with content between major releases. They are aggressively hiring since before the announcement of their acquisition by Sony to address this issue. 2. Cost. We are paying between $3-5 US per month to play the game during seasons. Whereas games like Elder Scrolls Online and World of Warcraft charge $12-15 per month. 3. Player expectations. I like to use a dinner analogy. If major expansions are the main course of the meal, then the seasonal format is like the appetizers and salad you have tide you over between meals. The issue is that many players either expect a continuous main course, or they stuff themselves on the appetizers and salad…and then wonder why they lose their appetite for the game. There’s an old saying, “One night of your favorite meal is a treat. Eating it three meals a day, everyday for a year is torture.” Point? When you aren’t enjoying the game, take a break and only come back when you feel the urge to play again.

12 通の返信Very simple problem to solve. Just buy the expansion and don't pay for the seasons. Normal people only pay for things they like.

DLC + the first season and then wait to judge the final season before a new DLC seems to be on tap. This middle part can be skipped for sure. To be honest I am not sure the dungeons are worth paying for anymore either. They are not bad, but $20 for what they are and then on top being super buggy just don't seem worth it. I wonder if they will discount those keys in the future? I would maybe pay $5 a piece.
