We know from past timelines that Elsie Bray has experienced a constant result in Eris Morn becoming corrupted upon finding the artifact within the lunar pyramid. Question is why didn't she become corrupted this time? Or is she corrupted and is hiding this secret from us all? If not what changed to cause her to not become corrupted? By the time Elsie would have met Eris to teach her to control stasis in beyond light it would've been too late for her to gain control.
I mean in these previous timelines how long after she came into contact with the lunar pyramid artifact did she reveal herself to be corrupted to humanity? She could be doing the same as she did in the other timelines...waiting for her chance to reveal herself when the moment is right.

2 通の返信The literally only difference as stated by some other commenters is that We exist in this timeline, we stopped the black heart and everything else after it whereas in I think all other timelines the guardians who go and fight it end up becoming corrupted by it instead.

Eris wasn't able to find any purpose outside of vengeance in the Dark Future timeline, which ended up leading her to Darkness where she actually managed to bend Savathun to her own will and take up the mantle of Witch Queen. In our time we were able to help her find some closure regarding her fireteam and help her to find new purpose in helping others work past their own trauma (Season of the Haunted) as well as pairing her up with Drifter, a Lightbearer that is in many ways different but also similar to herself. In a way this may also have saved Drifter as well, as we see in the Dark Future that he lost his light and died alone, having starved one last time (Probably the character with the worst fate in the entire lore book to be honest).

21 通の返信I have a theory that we died in the original time line, while fighting Erimis. I mean in the dark future, we didn't have Elsie to train us so we got frozen by Erimis. Without us and Elsie to keep Eris in check she went down the rabbit hole. Also the fact that Elsie brought the drifter in probably played a part, especially now that he is a love interest for Eris. Strange did say that we fell to the darkness and turned evil. If we look at Erimis, she had the Witness contact her while she was frozen and release her if she agreed to follow his will. So if we were frozen in the dark future, then it makes sense that the Witness would have contacted us and turned us into a servant. Once corrupted we could have easily spread it through the tower and city.

I think all three are working together and have been for longer than we realize. I’ll go even further I think she was talking to The Drifter and Eris in D1.....

1 返信I think Eris has been corrupted to some extent since being lost in the Hell Mouth, putting Acolyte eyeballs in her head and carrying around a whispering ahamkara bone. She's corrupted but is cunning and has an iron will which makes her extremely difficult to enslave. If she ever fully turns to darkness it won't be from outside influence but by her own choice, on her own terms.

1 返信Actually it seems like Eris is getting further and further away from corruption, she is finally finding happiness with Ratman, and Elsie taught her to restrain her curiosity, and not let darkness consume her

1 返信It's because of our Guardian. We slew Crota to avenge her fireteam, eased her grief through her Nightmares, listened to her warnings and followed her guidance, and ultimately became a friend (or at least a good acquaintance) that she could rely on. Couple in other factors that have diverged us from the Dark Timeline, and it's fairly easy to see that Eris won't be corrupted.

1 返信I think it’s because Elsie got to her first and taught her to control stasis. I remember one of the interactions with Eris on Europa where Eris speculates on what would’ve happened if she was left alone with stasis. I don’t think we need to fear Eris, or if we ever did in the first place. This might be the happiest we’ve seen her since the death of Crota. Ana knows what she is now, so there’s no reason for either of them to turn to the darkness now. Drifter has been using the darkness long enough to not be corrupted, but he is never to be fully trusted by either side in this conflict. I still believe the Dark Future will come, but in a way that even Elsie hasn’t seen. All we can do now is wait.
